We were surprised how much grip showed up on the high side !!!Seemed like there was no margin for error, but some were making it work really well!!!

Regarding the GoPro holders, Mandee's channel recently posted "How To Vlog For Beginners", and around 3:30 she shows a custom built holder that is working well. Maybe you can fabricate something too.
