Years ago, I had my Ramcharger flooded up to the bottom of the dashboard. Drained all the oils & fluids. Drove it to a detail shop, they did a G8 job on the interior. They USED BAKING SODA on all the cloth areas, spread liberaly let set about a week. This was to absorb the oders like 'musty' & such. NEVER had an oder problem

2 things. The car was probably sabotaged either by the owner to get it totaled or at the auction by somone intending to get it on a low bid. The second thing is that’s an SL awd model which probably came with a Bose audio system and they took the sub. I’d say that Nissan is probably not really a flood car just got totaled as such.

That wire in the trunk is for the missing Bose subwoofer. It mounts inside the spare tire. I had that identical car for five years.

Always check the carpet padding for moisture and behind the weather straps for a waterline, also the a/C condenser will hold debri from the flooding

Nice one guys lets have a few more of the same.This year Copart have had some hail damaged cars at some sights in eastern England badly damaged ones as wellnot seen that before in the UK, but we do get a lot of flood vehicles.

That Rogue certainly doesn't sound like my daughter's 2014. It is a lot noisier than hers. I'd certainly change the fluids, especially the CVT fluid and rear diff. Otherwise, looks like a good deal!

Yes that 200mph tape is no joke 🤣 I use to tow these cars to IAA and Copart etc and we always had to use it if stuff was hanging or falling off and that stuff is crazy tough

Great touch of luck on both cars 👌🏻and that module probably would have been ok if dried and clean within a day or 2 of getting wet instead of being left damp for a few weeks , but still good cars at very good prices 👍🏻.

That's exactly what I was thinking. Insurance job no insurance company would track down. All they care about is if you turn the key and it doesn't start and it was parked in a flood zone.

Since these are flood/salvage cars they obviously won't get the same price as a non-flood/salvage car. My only concern would be long term reliability especially considering its unknow what may be corroded in the electrical system.

Should check the oil fill cap, inside. If that's covered in condensation, good chance your oil has water in it too.

Just little tips. Next time before you change corroded computer clean with electrical part cleaner ( I see on your hand ) and try again. 2017 I bought one 2017 Honda Civic flooded with 0 mile. Same situation some electrical connectors are corroded I clean with electrical part cleaner and working until today.

I used to work at an auction and we often found cars had been doctored to push the price down, even had the fuelling module taken of one car, but fuses and cables unplugged and batteries out of remotes etc

Probably 75% of flood damage to vehicles could be saved if the water damage was taken care of immediately instead of setting for months to years before making their way to auction. I believe the subwoofer box is missing on the Nissan they usually sit in the spare tire.

Nissan seems to have a cvt transmission wine. Same noise before my transmission went out.

yes, i was thinking the same. i had a 2017 Nissan rogue sl awd and it didn't wine as his did. I think the transmission was going out and the owner took advantage of the hurricane to totaled it out. I think the owner of that rogue disconnected that plug to totaled it out. But that rogue don't sound right.

Great buy on both of those. Dodge is worth 7-9k (minus deduct for flood). The Nissan is way discounted at 5k. Without flood it's a 15-19k car

I think the loose wire in the boot is for a sub woofer that sat in the spare wheel but has obviously been removed. I had two similar nissans over here in the UK with sub woods in the spare wheel

Either way your gonna have to check all the electronics , wiring and relays connections for moisture and corrosion for reliability issues ,this car doesn't look like a wet car ,🤔

I had the same thing happen a few times on flood cars from Houston Texas that were Nissans. I don't know if insurance adjusters do it to stop people from starting it or just to be able to total the car?? Could be fraud.

Nissan rouge was a Classic case of someone being in the flood zone and wanting to get out of their payment being over their head on it and unplugged something to get the pay off and get into either a nicer or cheaper car def ton of insurance fraud but you did nothing wrong you get a win they catch the felony lol but they will prob get away with it

What about the rest of the wiring harness. Do you think the water seeped into it? If one end had corrosion I would think water got into the rest of that wiring harness. I'm not a mechanic, just asking if it would damage the harness down the road.

I never thought I’d say that a Dodge Dart looks good, but it’s a sharp car. At 8:26 when Ivan puts the spare tire cover down did I see pieces of glass bounce around? It must have had a window replaced at some point. Good deals on the cars. I had rather see wrecked cars being rebuilt in your videos more than videos like this or rv’s being repaired. Keep up the good work guys.

I have had water get in a car and short the belt tensioner. I cleaned the water out and reset the airbag codes and all was fine. Prolly just got some water in the connector.

Dude, remove adhesive tape by pulling at a 45 degree angle and you will not leave residue or tear the tape.......a continuous tensioned pull.

milky comes with water in the oil after you run it and it mixes. when I was a kid a company I worked for had 200 brand new monte carlos flooded in mississippi . Chevrolet had to send 200 new cars. they were underwater for weeks

Word of advice check all fluids mainly transmission because if you run them with water in them you will be replacing a transmission

How do you prevent corrosion to interior steel on lower body, doors and front fenders? Also what about ABS connections at the wheels? What was the flood water… rain or mixed with salt water? Hope you/title discloses flood exposure!

Doors already have built-in drains. As windows are not 100% watertight on all cars. Inside of fenders andor's already have paint. And this was freshwater and not a saltwater flood. And speaking of lower body people drive the rain all the time and it splashes up. And some states they put salt on the roads in the winter and that splices up also and gets in the cracks and crevices. It should be fine.

Check the transfluid and also check the intake for any water you don't want to hydro lock it

In my opinion, a lot of people used the flood as a way to upgrade there car , with all the claims that were coming in , if it was in the “flood zone” then it was automatically eligible to be considered flooded. Probably unplug that plug and call in and said hey car got flooded and won’t start, shop or whoever coming to check these cars out to see if there damaged from water are probably overwhelmed and don’t spend much time checking them out and just write them off as “ flooded”

Nissan could be what's known as a carpet flood. Just flooded up a little bit and it was easier to write off

Id worry about issues that will take time to manifest such as corrosion on electronics that will continue to eat away causing future failure. Same with unseen future rust or mold issues. All not a deal breaker for me but I don’t know if I could sell them in good conscience.

I don't know about flooded cars it's just like opening a can of worms. Many things need to be checked out, doors, rocket panels, sensors. But if you feel adventurous may loose few thousands. We bought a Old Bravada years ago from a dealer in Iowa , no disclose about flood damaga....that suv had 77k and was super clean. It was a huge money pit, damn near drove us into poverty.....free advice...AVOID FLOOD CARS AND TRUCKS LIKE THE BLACK DEATH

That same corrosion will keep occuring and down the road all the electrical connections will do the same! The transmission dip stick is usually where the water enters the transmission on these flood vehicles and that too will eventually destroy the transmission! You cant get a good resale on a salvage title so personally i would not buy these vehicles unless i totally rebuilt the whole vehicle. If it was saltwater it will quickly destroy everything electrical!

I have detailed hundreds of vehicles and water under the carpet doesn’t always leave a smell! Left carpet up and check under the insulation and there could be wetness

According to Seafoam, it will fix everything, Broken Fan Belts, Bearings etc. Even water damage Haha
