But they should keep the dog, this is a moment for them to mature, and realize how owning a puppy along with continuing their own daily life can be either hard or easy. If they know that they cannot fulfill the needs of the puppy along with their own; then they will need to make the right choice themselves. Finding solutions to the issue they have at the moment (schedules, etc.), or give the puppy a new home. This is about them learning responsibility and sacrifice, not whether they have time or not.
