its tough to find land like that in FL these days. Congrats. Looks like you have a lot of work ahead but looks like a good piece of property. Predation tags can be had through FWC if you choose. Holler if you need a hand with anything. Im a handy type of guy, grew up on a ranch, built schools most of my life, as well as being a photographer.

With that much land and scenery I would make it a wedding venue and retreat center. I would put cabin throughout the area out of site of each other for privacy. Their is so much that could be done there it blows my mind.

You asked for advice. I have 132 acres in TN and started building our farm last year. Follow Joel Salatin and his farm PolyFace. He has online homesteading videos and he does weekend retreats for homesteaders to come learn on his farm. Good luck on your journey, more folks need to do this!

You guys have so much space there that you could do a fitness retreat type of thing there. Little cabins out by the lake somewhere. Incorporating mind and body and soul programs. Make some trails through your property to hike but only for people who are visiting for the retreat. Maybe incorporate lessons for gardening and taking care of animals once you get that far.

Awesome property that every true Floridian would be envious of! Renovate the old block buildings since the slabs and walls are still in great shape, but if they were built prior to the 1960s then plan to use them only for equipment/durable goods storage. Concrete slab on grade foundations built before the 1950/60s don't have vapor barriers, so those buildings will always have a higher than average humidity from moisture coming up through the ground/slab that could cause mold (especially with that high water table). Gators are abundant in Florida, so there's no use in having big bull gators around that would pose a danger to a curious toddler (or father), especially if they're that comfortable with being that close to the shoreline where you think a food source once was... Gopher tortoises like iceberg lettuce, rattlesnakes like gopher tortoise burrows. Don't plant an orange grove (or rely on it being successful if you do), there's no grove in the state that doesn't have greening or canker - but do plant a few grove stock valencia trees outside your house to have fresh squeezed OJ every Christmas morning. Sub out all the large tasks, DIY the smaller ones you'd get joy from. You've got a huge, awesome project on your hands! Respect the local Floridians and listen to their suggestions, those who've lived here long enough would provide priceless knowledge with each conversation. You own a piece of Old Florida now, you'd be wise to keep it that way.

Awesome intro video! From one new homesteader to another, my main piece of advice is START SMALL with your goals/projects. We also bought an old property that had been neglected and overgrown and we made the mistake of trying to do a bunch of projects that would make the property look nicer but in the long run didn't serve much purpose. If I could start over again, I would start by just focusing on my homesite and the things immediately surrounding it that are necessary. Then move on to the garden and be very deliberate about location, size, water source, etc. Then move onto fencing for animals - but again, start small! Don't try to fence the whole 30 acre pasture at once. Start with a 1-3 acre pasture that you can run some cattle, or whatever animals you choose, and just stick with that for a while. Once they are breeding and outgrowing the pasture, then start fencing the next section to let your herd grow. The worst thing you can do is get too many things going all at the same time and overwhelm yourselves. In the first year on our property we had horses, cows, chickens, and pigs and in order to do all of that, we ended up throwing together fencing, shelters, and infrastructure for water. It was a terrible mistake because now we are already having to replace fencing and re-do mistakes. So that leads me to my second piece of advice: DO IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME. You will not regret investing the money upfront for good materials and extra time put into building things up. It will save so many headaches down the road. I could go on forever but I'll leave y'all with that! Again, great video and great job with your production quality! That is definitely something we didn't do either when it came to starting our channel lol. I look forward to seeing how things turn out for you!

Thought of one more super important tip after posting the first comment. When it comes to purchasing a tractor, do not cheap out on that either. For 125 acres, do not get a compact tractor. Get something 60 HP or larger. You'll want to make sure you have enough PTO HP to run all the different implements that you'll need. Also, spend the money for an enclosed cab with A/C. Lastly, when it comes to dealing with tractor salesmen, dont be afraid to shop around and definitely haggle with them. Dont take the first deal offered!

The cattle bones all-in-one spot! Is cows and bulls or whatever that died on the ranch. And they are put in an out of the way spot! Then it's food for the birds, and other animals that find it! I have never owned a ranch, but have worked on one! And that's what they did! This was in the 70s and early 80s!

You need to find someone that will be truthfull and willing to help u with some education. A lot what u have shown can be worth and help u in repairs, saves u money,SO any fallen trees can save or make u come money. JUST ALITTLE NOTE!!

You have a lot of swampland on your property. What did the owner say about year-round dry land quantity? (Hope you checked with them and neighbors.) What are your state's regs on dealing with wetlands? Gators? Are you in Flowda? Well, best of luck to you both. What a bummer. Your own lake but you can't swim in it. I wonder if that second house is filled with $1M worth of ebay collectables. Have it assayed or whatever them pipples do with stuff like that.

If you build structures I would suggest lifting the foundation because there is a lot of wet land, if you get animals you gotta watch out for the gators because they travel for food

How many trees do you have? I am guessing you are in Floridia. Probably there isn't a lot of need for firewood. But if you have trees to harvest maybe you could make lumber out of them.

Look into quail habitat for the pines. It is thinned nicely already, you could do some controlled burns and there are conservation programs in place already that can help with taxes and rejuvenating a dwindling population.
