Hi, we used to own a cobra 33 exactly the same but it had 6354 leaners in it on shafts used to get around 25knts, one of the motors ran completely backwards however I have heard its now got 2 modern yanmars in it, we went everywhere in it and in any weather, it was a sturdy old girl and even managed to get it airborne a few times, il try and dig out some photos, good luck with her

When doing sanding grp or painting wear appropriate mask and paper allover suits and surgical gloves that you can chuck away afterwards but she looks great hopes she passes inspection good luck 😊😊

thanks Kevin, definitely something we have on order for when we do the top of the boat, its really nasty stuff to be breathing in

Pay attention when mounting the props. They are not interchangable. One is a left turn prop and one a right turn prop. Each belongs to its own stern drive.

Word of advice !! You will not get from EM to cornwall in one day in fact it could take you weeks as weather this time of year in the Channel is not good. Then the run after lands end may look short but I can assure you its not ! The cost of fuel etc and marina fees etc you would be safer and cheaper to have it transported by road . Don't say you have not been warned it could end up costing you a lot more to take it by sea and could also endanger your life. How do I know ?? I have been at sea most of my life and done the journey that you are going to take many times . Good luck

Howard, what's your fee to captain the boat brother?
@howardbeer5214Ай бұрын
@@TheBoatingBuoys To be honest I would not want to deliver it at this time of year . 1 the boat is untested etc The fuel tanks are prob full of diesel bug so once the boat starts to roll etc your fuel filters will clog and it always happens when you can't afford for it to happen and 2 the weather is not good enough IE long range to take her around Lands End . You will save yourself a lot of heart ache but taking her by road . From Dover to Lands End non stop is 2 days in good weather conditions at an average speed of 6 knts The tides in the channel can really slow you down . From EM to Dover is about 6 hrs alone .
@howardbeer5214Ай бұрын
Its over a 500mn journey by sea . By road 310 miles and it would be there the day it left EM

Lads, listen to the above The Trip you want to do is no cakewalk I’ve done it too like the previous contributor If the boat was proven yes At the right time of the year yes With an experienced crew yes Get Her delivered by road If you are launching in North Wales I can help Cheers Rich

@@TheBoatingBuoys Listen to this man, you openly admit that you know nothing about boats, and doing a journey like that in a proven boat is one thing, but in an unproven boat, with 0 experience is just asking for the coast guard to have to rescue you from a wreck

Try thinning your paint with 20 to 30% thinners it will dry way smoother less dimpled, I redid my 79 28 ft cruiser in Canada, way easier to thin it then tip it with a brush for smooth finish, same with any spar varnish you use on wood. Keep them vids coming if boat.
@TheBoatingBuoysАй бұрын
Thanks for the tip Grayman! will definitely try this when painting the top!

Salut. Il n'y a que ceux qui ne tentent rien qui arrivent a rien. Je suis certain que tu vas nous faire un bateau magnifique. Prends les défis les uns après les autres et tu arriveras au bout de ton projet. Bonne continuation. Amitiés du sud de la France. Olivier.

Hi, My dad had one of these, but with 6 cylinder Perkins. The biggest thing to be wary of is that the hull is a sandwich construction ie two layers of fiberglass with Balsa wood in the middle and sometimes water gets in and rots the balsa. It is however an amazing seaboat due to its width. Where are you going to take it to/keep it. I have a boat in the Medway

Hi Mike, We've checked her over and she feels pretty solid on the outside and the inside to be fair, so I think we've came up trumps there Reference keeping it I've not got a clue currently but open to suggestions

Do you think grey is a good color for it or making it white like the other boats

@Steve-CrossАй бұрын
When it comes to painting the hull. They do have special anti-fowling paints. They will stop crustaceans attaching themselves, and they will last longer. I am pretty certain the paint you have used will last about a year, before having to be redone.
