We Bought an MG Metro!

Ohh now then what have we here. I brought a silver one for the wife back in the day. She loved it to bits. Called it Motsey Go Faster. Never forget when she reversed it into a truck. Her excuse was "the Truck wasnt there when I parked it".. Great fun. Went all over France in it. Much more fun than a Mini. Good room, comfy and a few more mod cons. Endlessly Tunable.

I drove an early one of these quite regularly. Great fun, all the great handling of a Mini, but with a bit more room and comfort.

You could ask me the same question as to why I daily literally any classic - simple, life is too short to drive boring cars… I drive what I want to drive and I do my best to look after what I have. The Metro has gone to pastures new now but it didn’t give me any issues as a daily and if you keep on top of it I’d have no problems continuing to daily it too!

As MGs go it was well priced and I sold it well priced to a lovely chap, some people are asking really big money though!

Does the wheels stop whilst the tyres kept spinning under harsh braking? According to a booklet with the worst 50 cars made it did.

Who knows what happens on old metrics (most of those wheels are now scrapped as they are obsolete!) but can 100% confirm that’s never happened to me nor have I heard it from other Metro owners 😂

I think the magazine made that up and the Metro is far from one of the worst 50 cars ever made. It just aged quickly

Nice example, I see you paid £4100 with 63,000 miles, but you need a new MG badge on the front grille.

Wrong wheels 3rfor that year of MG metro. Those wheels are off of an MG Metro Turbo model,, and the side decals are from a pre 1985 MG Metro.. Are you sure it's a genuine MG metro? Check the Engine and chassis number both match.

Genuine MG Metro = yes Correct wheels and stickers = no I bought a set of octagons for it but sold the car before I bothered changing anything up, was a fun car though

@@macker8017 it’s a tough one because prices go up and down all the time so it’s only relevant for a certain period of time, I think it’s the first time recently that someone has asked for the price paid and to be honest it’s not something that’s usually top of our list but I’ll certainly consider your comments!
