Those blocks may be homemade. My grandfather had an old piece you pour concrete inside. Once it sets you have a block. It got washed away in a flood.

They live about 3 hours apart! That's a long ways for something like that.

You should be sure to get that vine off the chimney. Ivy and other vines are the worst thing for anything cemented. People think that looks cool, but the stems will root into the cement and loosen the brick or stone. I think that's a fantastic property. Happy for you!! Don't forget to metal detect!

Great! I’m retired and built my house 35 years ago. No body believes it’s 35 yrs. young but now I’m clearing my woods and cleaning all the dead tress that have fallen over the years. My dogs love being out running while I work and cut the dead up and haul it to the burn pile. I’m 67 but I think it keeps me young. I’m lucky to have my little homestead and even luckier to have my pups. You’re very wise to do this now while the children are younger and you can enjoy when you get older like me. I was a single mom and worked two to three jobs at a time to pay off my loan before 50! Mission accomplished. God bless you’re on th eight track. I have 5 1/2 acres but it’ll be done maybe within the summer or next. I just got a battery powered chain saw…lol ❤ Love your channel!

Great piece of property! When you cut those young trees inside the foundation of old house that burnt down, count rings on largest one & it will give you an idea of when the fire happened. Or if you find an old toilet, inside lid will be a casting date of when house had bathroom added. Enjoy discovering that property history. Congratulations!!

Are you sure that that old foundation wasn’t a mill of some kind, as no house would have needed that huge of a chimney, and the foundation is too big to be a house foundation. Maybe you should check old maps of that parcel and see what was there back in the day. But none the less it’s very impressive and the chimney is awesome!

You probably already know but you don't want pecan trees close enough to your dwelling that they can fall on it because they are super brittle.

Pecan is a HARD wood used in furniture and cabinet making. Only "brittle" wood is diseased and decayed and that cany be any tree wood. I wouldn't want a pecan next to a dwelling for having to deal with the nuts everywhere.

Try your local library or county clerks office, somewhere there are records of these properties. You could find out what type of building they were and who owned them. As a genealogist, I know how fun it is to have information like this! See yah on your next video!!
