Absolutely agree .. and then paint doors glossy white with timber flooring all the same throughout and it will look massive and light and bright. The outdoor area where he kept the dogs can be transformed into a beautiful garden centred with a lounge area fire pit etc for relaxing. Congratulations guys you have bought a great house with huge potential. That barbecue hut is amazing wow what a great add on to the house. How wonderful for entertaining. I personally think that's a bad idea, just my opinion as I do have an open plan living room and kitchen, it always looks cluttered,doesn't look as cozy as I imagined it would and just isn't convenient when trying to cook and the tv is on. Thats just my personal opinion

Ash Bell they help you essentially get the best deal, do all the paperwork, you need a broker/adviser to be able to get a house it’s nearly impossible without one as they are the people who work out if you can afford a mortgage or not before you do to a bank. If you don’t one you will massively struggle seriously. They do all the ringing to estate agents, solicitors, bank and so on and keep the ball rolling x

Basically if you don’t get one you’re making the process so so much more stressful and hard work than it has to be. They don’t cost much honestly. Around the £100 mark so worth every penny.

My recommendation would be to remove downstairs toilet and utility area and move them into the garage. You could do a fabulous utility and small toilet out there and change the garage door into a window and wall potentially. Also a tip for a utility have your washing machine and dryer up at your arm height so you aren't bending down all the time. Id knock the wall in your bathroom through to the kitchen and the opposite front room. Big open kitchen and the current utitlity could be a dining area/sofa area in the kitchen. Be amazing. But would just repaint the kitchen units for now if you can't do a big refurbishment because it would be a terrible waste of your money to do a new kitchen and in a few years extend it again. Fabulous house with amazing potential congratulations.

This has to be one of the best empty house tours I have seen. What a beautiful home, so spacious, so much you can do with it! This has given me the inspiration I need. I am at the beginning stages of saving for a house so definitely helped me to realise what hard work can achieve !!! I would put the dining table in the living room. That way, when you are eating your food, you can look out onto the garden. Plus a table wont block the view of your garden from the sofa 😊

It depends on your preferences with styles you like etc! But some inspiration: navy, white + grey go really well together and paired with plants makes a room look really good. You could have a navy sofa in your office and it would look amazing against the leaf wall!

Congratulations!!!!! Not sure if anyone else has mentioned this but although a walk in wardrobe would be amazing!! Reducing the house to a 3 bed will reduce the value of the property so if you're ever considering selling in the future, maybe go for a dressing room instead of removing the wall?

Personally as an interior designer my first thought with the downstair layout was to knock through the lounge and kitchen wall to make one nice big and bright lounge kitchen diner which would be an amazing entertaining space and family room which could open straight out onto the garden. then knock the wall between the small room at the front and the toilet to make a full sized bathroom. Ofc this is just my opinion and not everyone will like it but congrats on the new house! ❤️

Congratulations Demi!! The house is fantastic and the garden is huge! I would say that if you combine kitchen/ living room like some have suggested there are drawbacks. We rented a house with no door on the kitchen and the smoke alarm constantly went off when we did a fry up and the sitting room smelt if we cooked anything strong smelling. I think your idea of a kitchen/diner gives that space for entertaining in the kitchen but still leaves the sitting room as a separate relaxing space. Well done you two, enjoy the renovations xx

Definitely think you should keep the wardrobe maybe paint it white and move it into the guest room, you could also have a go at painting the kitchen cupboard units, and maybe using the spare dining room as a gym room (or swap with office) then use garage as actual car garage or shauns work place xx

Absolutely love this 😍 Think we all need a BBQ hut! It reminded me of the tree house you went to stay in. Didn't expect a bbq! 🤪 Also, you mentioned DIY'ing your kitchen cupboards. The best paint for that is Frenchic paint. You can paint anything with it, honestly, it's the best paint on the market for kitchen cupboards. It's amazing for front doors too! Internal doors & woodwork... Even flooring! It's an all round paint. The list is endless what you can paint with it. Basically if it stands still, paint it. 😜 Can't wait to see more videos on your progress with it. Xx

The hut is a duplicate of Lapland! They have those huts with the reindeer skins and they drink berry juice out of the wooden cups! I went the beginning of this year and went in one on an excursion. Your house is beautiful x

I would use the Spare downstairs/ dining room space as the Man Cave/ Games room then you have 2 guest rooms. As when you have BBQ etc you can have 2 lots friends stay if the need to. Also you could easily fit a Dining room space in the lounge it's so large. Amazing house guys. Love it xx

The house is lovely. It has a great layout and good room sizes. It was smart to buy one that needs a refresh as it allows you to put your own ideas into it. In regards to the stairs, I had the same issue. I thought there was way too much timber but I hate carpet on stairs as it just gets so dirty and worn so I painted the uprights a brilliant white and left the treads timber. It gives it a whole new look. For the kitchen, I would take a drawer front/ cupboard door to a good paint store. I'm pretty sure you could get a high-quality primer and some topcoat to sort it out for under 100GBP. I once transformed a blood-red high gloss kitchen (Eeek) into a very moody grey and even filled holes and added new knobs to the front. It made the world of a difference and lasted years. I even cheated with the benchtops and had them topped with a thin layer of engineered stone stuck onto the top of the existing bench. It cost heaps less than replacing them with a full stone top. You could have a lovely kitchen now and then replace it down the track when/if you rip out walls to increase the size. reuse the overhead cupboards (where you want to install the fridge) in the laundry room. Good luck- It is such a great time decorating your new place and I look forward to seeing how it turns out. Don't forget you can do so much yourselves and do a lot of budget stuff that still looks great.

You could put a day bed into the game/spare room. Possibly paint the stair case definitely get a carpet runner. Get some frenchic paint which can paint tiles and kitchens it's amazing.
