I used a 4'x8' piece of 3" insulation with a 4'x8'x1/4" piece of plywood with turf stapled onto that. Use a hole dozer bit to make the hole which is roughly 3" deep. Floats level and stable. Add a carpet pad "future Foam" between the turf and 1/4" ply wood for a "softer" green.
