If you haven't looked at Nezar's content he had a ton of videos where he built bases in the cave systems up north. I don't think anywhere in Dayz is truly safe, but that's definitely one of the better spots to defend.

Find a wind turbine, on an island. Build it behind it, hidden from the shore. Nezar did it and he was not raided. It was full of loot and when he finished with it he zeroed the codes and gave it to new spawns and told them to gear up and leave the rest for other spawns.

Since I'm usually playing on console I've had a base in chernarus for about a year-and-a-half in the woods. There was a wipe in the middle and I went right back to the spot, managed to get it all set up the same. It was never found, just a little bit north west of the airfield. It is doable. Never built any walls or anything. Just improv shelters surrounding my tents for extra space and camouflage.

All those notifications in the top left corner, global admin in the bottom left, you had a mini map, you had your full stamina while you were carrying a ton of stuff, and etc. Is this a community server?

18:30 I was surprised that gun required you to aim in the center of the scope and not to the iron sights. How could you say no to Mitch? Such a likeable fellow. That last zed was about as hardcore as Monty Python's Black Knight. I'd be interested in building an expansive pyramid base that has nothing in it. I'd like to have teasers like gaps and windows that let people see a bunch of containers that they may ultimately find empty.

If the shed faced down slope the door height would be less restrictive. I don't know how much you can sink these things but you'd have more clearance to try. Probs not best to do that in that specific spot, but as a memo for later.

I used have 70+ hrs in dayz and i used to love it. Mostly solo, just loved the whole zombie apocalypse experience, not to mention the weather. Now I fucking hate it with the passion of 1000 hot suns, mainly cuz I play console and can't mod servers to make it fun. It used to be fun in the older versions, but now it's just too much of a grind to do anything

I don't like traders, and the servers they are on as its just about looting crap, selling it and then buying way better loot than you can find. for me that completely invalidates the initial looting. The only way you can get more money to buy better things is to raid, sell the loot. Completely negating the "survival" aspects of the game. I have stopped watching DayZ as its always the same plot. tho I do pop in from time to time to check you guys out as you are amusing and play the game for fun over being serious.

the Mines in Namalsk are a maze and you could stuff a cabin or other small base into a corner, or wall the whole thing so any raiding party has to go through a maze of doors and walls?
