Maybe putting a ruler inside or marking height inside the boards on each corner would help identify the ice thickness throughout the season. That way you can start at 4 inches and identify if it’s been cut up too much on one side or all around and refill it

For attaching the tarp to the boards do the eyelets line up with the bolts to secure the boards together? Possible to just screw them in and not deal with the zip ties? Wish I lived somewhere that actually got cold

Would be nice if they included reusable zip ties, sure they cost a little more upfront but saves a lot of waste and recurring costs post purchase

@@yardrink9790hey just wondering in the in use videos the rink is nearly filled to top. Are you able to just fill it with like a quarter to a third full so the boards work like a rink for the younlings and they can’t fall off it

I bought a house on a pond to avoid this and it has frozen maybe a week combined in 7 years. But still better than setting up my yard rink anf having never freeze either.

awesome video..but filling the boards with water then letting it freeze seems like a a disaster waiting to happen.
@yardrink9790

The panels, once filled then frozen, lock together into a very solid wall with great puck play. They were designed to withstand repeated freeze/thaw cycles and have performed very well in yards across North America.
@xXOAXxTempest
@xXOAXxTempest 8 ай бұрын
@yardrink9790 So it's inevitable threw expansion, freezing + pucks being shot at the objects you paid for to then be instructed to weaken. Your creating stress points in plastic then shooting hard rubber at them? Why not fill with sand or something with give and dose not expand and weaken the product? Wouldn't be as sustainable as a buissness I guess. 🤣
@yardrink9790
@yardrink9790 8 ай бұрын
@@xXOAXxTempest Thanks! For sure, you could fill them with sand if you'd like. The filled-and-frozen panels definitely do not crack from repeated puck hits.
@nathanregier7403
@nathanregier7403 8 ай бұрын
If you fill them with sand it then turns into a permanent rink. I think the idea is that this makes it possible to disassemble in the spring while still being very strong in the winter
