My heart goes out to Bali. I have been visiting Bali many times around 10-15 years ago. It was such a beautiful, green and spiritual place with great traditions. Very sad to see rice fields and forests replaced with concrete. This house would look good perhaps in Miami. Keep doing it and in a few years this island will never be the same. Very, very sad....

Coming from a small Med island i can only attest to the devastation these rich immigrants are bringing on our (not theirs) lands it's disgusting. I don't see Bali vibe in their home yet there they are. Also, the chlorine swimming pools these central Europeans are building on a large scale (don't forget, there are 100s more of these couples building swimmingpools) they attract different type of bugs than usual for the climate - in turn and in just 3 years you get all kinds of animals and weeds that are not supposed to be there. No respect for the SEA whatsoever, how could they, they are not native to the Sea. They come from Switzerland and Sweden, from ice and from mountains and they are destroying tropical and Mediterranean lands, one property at a time.

Aren’t there any legislations regulating the buildings etc ? If the government allows it then foreigners will build
@ellobo4211 Жыл бұрын
I disagree..if anything the balinese are loving what's happening to there island..what makes you think the balinese don't want this? There are already strict laws on where to build. If your the type of person who lives in a highly established country and expect bali to be your personal backyard once a year then your not really interested in what the balinese interest are..just your own
@mariefeandjakesnow Жыл бұрын
Sorry to hear you feel this way, we also agree that Balinese traditions and nature need to be preserved. There are two sides to every story, we have spoken to many locals about the development Bali is seeing right now and they are excited for the future of their people. A rice terrace might look nice to you but to a local family it is a low paying and extremely intensive and hard working job that I assume you would never want to do yourself. Tourism provides a way forward for a lot of local people. We see what you mean, but you also need to see another perspective.
@awokeadoe Жыл бұрын
Well im very happy to see that recently planned buildings was canceled because it does not fit into Balinese environment. So the government is aware of that and hopefully with the next election it’s getting more strict on this topic. Nobody even the locals who are exited of the future are happy with a Bali that looses all of its nature because tradition is very strong in the communities. If there is only houses and villas and less nature and tradition they witness a loss of their origins. Nobody wants that. And nobody wants disrespectful tourist who think money buy everything. As it’s the status quo rigth now. There is a reason for that many deportations of western tourists.

As someone who lives in Bali, i can tell this villa is built with aesthetic as its selling point, i could imagine how much great social media content one can take from this place. which i guess makes sense because they are influencers.

Yes it looks fresh and clean BUT i have never understood why anyone would build a sparce, concrete, Mediterranean style villa when you live in the most lush green and tropical island. It boggles my mind.
@sparcousa Жыл бұрын
Sadly yeah. Anyways good luck to them maintaining the place during rainy season. Gonna be a big headache in the long run. He kinda mentioned it at 05:50 where others had advised him not to based on their experience. I believe some of their neighbours have similar Mediterranean concept if not mistaken. I just wished the would have at least some bougainvillea in the corners or near the walls as part of the deco. Would definitely bring up more character/contrast to their villa.
@Insightlyapp Жыл бұрын
The main reason why everyone says don't have a white property is because in the rainy season you get stains from the rain. Stains scarring all the walls from water running down that will look disgusting. This place also needs way more large plants - it's just concrete right now.
@pr18797 ай бұрын
I absolutely love it. I think it makes a beautiful contrast to the surrounding environment and I love the Mediterranean vibes!

Thank God we are not all the same. I would really hate that. Do I wish to live in a small house in some remote island? No thanks. My dream home would look very similar to this one -artistic people love white spaces, blue skies and blue water. The sound of palm leaves in the breeze and happy chirping of tropical birds and wildlife. A PARADISE.

Absolutely gorgeous ! Very inspiring. We are building our own villa here in Mauritius, obviously on a much smaller scale, but we share the same tastes for natural materials and design. I do have one question tho, where do you hide all the non aesthetic stuff like outside ac units?

Congratulations, that sounds incredible. All our AC units are tucked away on the backside of the suites. That is the benefit of have a central facing design, everything on the back you don’t see ☺️

Very content creator friendly!! Totally mediterranean, would work well for getting some space from Bali itself when being there, I feel that it is such a totally different aesthetic to Bali that it is almost a little boutique hotel to escape the hustle and bustle of Bali...This will appeal hugely to content creators which is very smart. Well thought out details, this must have been a labour of love and I am sure you are getting plenty of kick back due to the style you have gone with, I wish you much success!

Interesting. I wonder, when it comes to your projects are you at all involved in any contributions that benefit the Bali community? I think that’s also important when it comes to foreigners forming any business establishment in a country other than their own.
@raymondkyruana118 Жыл бұрын
I mean they probably do and that's an admirable thing to do but totally not necessary. They bought the land just like anybody else would, so why do they need to do any more just because they are foreign. In all actuality these places do more good for communities than most people give them credit for.

Beautiful but not Bali style… more like Tulum. I always feel one should stick with authenticity rather than force your design taste on a space. I would have loved to see an updated Bali style hotel rather
