Accessibility request: can you please add the subtitles through the KZbin subtitle service? For someone like me who is using assistive technology to read, you can change the appearance and size of the subtitles if they are done through KZbin so they are easier to see versus put in the video. Hello Guys, I have been watching you for a long time and I really enjoy your videos, I am from Chile, South America and I have been to Japan a couple of times with my family and, thanks to you, we went to Gujo Hachiman in 2018... beautiful town, we enjoyed it endlessly. We thank you very much for that. Please allow me to share an idea for your adorable kittens. A "CATIO", a little house in the patio that connects with their interior house and where they can go out without risk of getting lost and enjoy the outdoors more peacefully... ¿sounds like a nice project? There are many videos on KZbin about CATIOS. With love,

If anyone reading this sees frogs, please do not put tap water on them - we put chlorine in our tap water, which keeps the water safe for humans, but is dangerous for amphibians like frogs. Amphibians absorb substances through their skin, including chlorine. After a quick Google, it appears that the amount of chlorine in water in Japan tends to be lower than in the US, so it's possible it's safe for frogs in Japan? But other countries have an even higher level of chlorine than the US, so please don't risk it. I'm no expert, I just know that when handling a pet frog, it's recommended you first clean your hands with dechlorinated water or wear gloves, so even a small amount of chlorine transferred to them is considered dangerous. Beyond chemical exposure, there's also a fungus that invisible to the naked eye but is killing amphibians, and it can be accidentally transferred by handling frogs. So please touch amphibians as little as possible None of this is judgment to Jun & Rachel of course! They were trying to keep the frogs safe, and gardening will involve getting native animals wet. I just like animals and find this stuff interesting.

The arbour (sorry, I'm British and we like extra letters) looks fantastic. It was nice to see Poki supervising the manual labour. I particularly enjoyed Jun treating the tree frog to a private spa and wondering why it keeps returning to the second floor. Additionally, it is a brave man who digs 80cm deep holes wearing a white shirt - I am so very impressed it was still pristine after the holes were finished. Truly remarkable talent. Hi! The lines in the soil are soil horizons. They occur naturally as the different sized soil particles settle, organisms move stuff about and minerals and salts leach down. The lighter colour at the top is topsoil, then the darker layer is likely an eluviation layer where all the minerals and organic matter have leached (that's why it's darker). Then under that is subsoil and then parent rock and then bedrock. Cool huh?

Black screws are usually not rust proof and are for indoors so they might rust out in a couple decades. Doesn't really matter since it's not a heavy structure, but I thought I would mention it if you ever build something that needs to be strong and last outside, for outside you normally would want to use zinc coated or stainless steel screws.
@RachelandJunAdventures6 ай бұрын
I was a little concerned about the waterproofing of the screw areas anyway so I put them all in a bit deeper, then filled them in and painted over them! So hopefully water won't be getting through anywhere on that arbor. Time will tell lol

Woah amazing work, it's going to look so good- I can't wait to see how your garden flourishes throughout all the seasons 🌸🪲🍃!!!!!!!!!!!! When you were digging the holes for the posts - the soil change in texture/colour was because of a change in soil horizon!! The soil profile is split into multiple 'horizons' (layers), and the depth of each segment is specific to a lot of location-specific qualities. For example, the slope of the land, erosion, amount of organic material, type of parent material, and much more! Most likely you were digging into the B horizon! The amount of clay will commonly increase in each horizon, just like you said :))). Farmers will often hire someone to perform a land capability assessment (LCA), in order to evaluate their land for a specific purpose (like cattle grazing or wheat pasture). The LCA will let them know how suitable the land is or recommend adjustments. One of the things they look at to determine the land capability is the soil profile! 👩🌾🌾🧡 I am an Agriculture student and writing this comment while I procrastinate writing up a very amature LCA for one of my subjects 😂.
