I would consider painting the shutters the same color as your front door to maximize the "minimalist" look. It'll add warmth while still blending with the new paint job.

Also… if it’s in the budget would extend the front porch a bit. Like a foot on each side. Brick with a German schmear look would be amazing with the white brick, black accents and warm cedar shutters

Window boxes are something we have discussed! Might be a good spring project ❤️ Extending the front porch is definitely out of budget but that sounds beautiful!

because you were using fencing cedar, that stuff shrinks even when very tightly packed side by side. when used as fencing, so you probably woundn't need those spacers , They look great and are hugely economical! Nice job! I'm on Team Shutters. Cant find fault with architectural design
