I've been a fabricator for 50 years. But I enjoyed seeing someone else do the work. Nice Job!

Hey those welds looked great to me ! That’s a glorious swage station !!😮I sure wish I could of grabbed one of those uncle buck swages when he was still making them. That’s just awesome. Be well guys

“Grinder and paint make it what it ain’t.” Lol. Thanks, brother. We were blessed to get it. Can’t wait for you to use it. God bless.

Haha I understand I hate it when people ask me "do you weld?" My usual response is no but I can stick two pieces of metal together.🤣

Great build, sir! Mine is made of bed frame, but has held up fairly well so far!

Turned out nice. No judgment. I’m a welder who wants to be a farmer. So when you see me trying to plant jelly beans don’t judge me.

Hi Troy their is nothing wrong being a farmer welder, that's what got me my first job, besides farmers can think on the run. Looking good. 👀 Just a suggestion, put feet on the bottom of the legs, your floor will thank you. 🙏🏼👍🔥⚒
@BarrRunForge2 жыл бұрын
Thank you, Robert. I try and agree with you, on the farmer thing. We are going to give the stand a test run or two, then set the height, fill with sand and cap the feet. Good thoughts and thanks for your support. God bless.

Started out thinking why there was piles of gravel on your welding bench then realised why! Glad its not me moving that great lump around, hope its not going to need to be moved much! Thanks Troy!

Ha. Yep. Working on a dedicated welding table. We plan to put “lift/tilt” casters on it when we are sure about the height. We will then put pads on the feet and final finish. Thank you, brother.

Whoa! That's a HUGE bolster plate, where from? And John Switzer made a pocket in his stand for turning the swages on one side🤔💡
@BarrRunForge2 жыл бұрын
Yes it is. We have a few things we are going to do after a few forging sessions. The pockets we are going to install will be on the outside. Thanks for watching.

That square steel tubing is crazy expensive right now I wanted to build a cart for my forge i am building but it would have been 200$ just for tube I got something else that i hope works for 200$ i didn't need to put together
@BarrRunForge2 жыл бұрын
Yeah. We found the same thing on material cost. It’s crazy. Thank you and God bless

Looks good, Ive had thoughts on building one similar but with channels in the table to hold the swage vertically. My only trepidation would be that getting the swage out of the channel would be a pain. What are your thoughts?
@BarrRunForge2 жыл бұрын
Thank you! We have plans to put a channel on the sides for the small swages. That should be easier.

@@BarrRunForge BTW Troy, I forgot to ask you in your Y.T. Live Stream last night ... but what should be the ideal height of the swage block. like "knuckle height" is ideal for anvils; what's the Rule of Thumb for swage blocks?
@BarrRunForge2 жыл бұрын
@@HighDesertForgeIronworks I believe slightly below anvil height, due to striking with top tools. That is also to say, it is personal preference. I personally think it is by feel. If someone tells you one particular height and it’s uncomfortable for YOU; what’s the point?

It doesn't matter what the weld looks like as long as it holds I've seen pretty welds break it's all about penetration

very nice but for the sake of your skin I hope you started using gloves, UV exposure like that is a killer
