You can't knock a 911. Nice choice Andrew. Those wheels 👌
@200mphgt404 жыл бұрын
I think it's great you outlined the criteria you had when looking for a car. Many don't seem to know what they want and wonder why they never happy with what car they get. One car can't do it all (at a realistic price), so with your Nissans and the WRX, the role your Porsche plays in your 'car needs life' makes a lot of sense. It don't need to be a drag car, circuit car or rally hack. Getting a well engineered car at or near bottom of depreciation curve is the way for sure. They still cost you of course, but at least not in depreciation!
@MotiveVideo4 жыл бұрын
200mphgt40 one car certainly can’t do it all. We figured beat to explain why we got it as so many people have an opinion online without knowing the facts or circumstance We also have a Van we use for work and don’t daily drive much so choice is different for us.

@@mareksumguy1887 Hilarious. "hurr durr if you upgrade this it will be better than X!" that goes for any car, and any amount of money poured into a car. What a silly argument. I have a 997 and its just point and go and does it go. Let off the gas slightly coming into a turn and the nose just digs with exceptional handling. Coupled with the huge rear tires you can pin the throttle and it shoots out of corners. Instead of assuming, why don't you get into these cars and drive them.
@iswinkels4 жыл бұрын
Big advantage to the auto is that even if the car was tracked, it wasn't ever over-revved. The ECU's won't allow it. Manual cars on the other hand...pull the ECU logs and you probably don't want the car as many have been well past the limiter. Also do a gearbox re-map and you'd be surprised what the auto will do.

The Gundo hack is OK for a while. But here's how you make your 997 sound like a GT3RS (I'm not joking..) Get a Dansk Super Sound back box. Dansk are absolute experts at Porsche aftermarket and their kit is incredibly well made (and not that pricey) Get 200 cell sport cats. I just welded some basic cats in there and then flash deleted the post cat o2 sensor And he presto.. You have the ultimate sounding 997. Some may also tackle the headers but chances are the bolts will be seized to hell and it'll be a big job. Only for the brave, that one Other great mods.. LED lights back and front. And I stuck 15-18mm wheel spacers on the rears (to widen the track and give the car a more old school 911 look) and something like 13mm on the front. Awesome cars!

You aren’t changing this to a manual without a LOT of headache and a LOT of expense - remember this is German engineering, nothing is simple - on top of the mechanical side you need to reflash the ECU - which on it’s own is a challenge.

David ell I would imagine the occasional 911 manual 997’s get wrecked occasionally...I know it’s a daily but if the opportunity arose I would imagine it’d be tough knock back if all the required parts became available. @davidell92264 жыл бұрын
@@MrStuwr250f Loved my rotaries and had a few in my time but an RX2 is not a Porsche - and if you do some research you will find it is very, very difficult to do the switch - you need to change all the mechanical items, the wiring harness, the computer etc I only know one car that has been successfully switched and that was in Singapore - and the cost and expense could only be justified because cars are ludicrously expensive there (even mores than Aussie) - not to mention your resale value is shot because you have a “Frankenstein” - much cheaper to sell and buy a manual - but again I'd love to watch someone do it.

Make sure you keep the stock bits, because potential buyers will walk away from it.
