One of the unique things about Sri Lanka is that anyone who visits will come back for sure. Although I can't pinpoint why exactly it is, I always feel like returning.

Usually foreigners come for few days think that there is nothing much to see around in srilanka since it is an island. Because other islands are popular for one or two reasons only , some islands are famous for beaches and some are for hotels and restaurants. But srilanka is very different from them. Yes You can enjoy the beaches and hotels. Surfing, kite surfing can also be done. But it is more than that. Few days are not enough. Nature, wild life , safari, off road rides, train travels, mountains and hikes, waterfalls, botanical gardens, heritage sites, historic sites, elephant orphanages, blue Wales watching, diving, camping, casino, etc..... endless things to do and see in a very small island. So one has to come few times to cover up all the places.

During your stay in Sri Lanka make sure to check out the National Basilica in Thewatte Ragama, Sri Lanka which is in the area of Ragama which is on your way (you can take a detour if you travel on the road) from Negombo to Colombo by car or bus, while if you travel by train from Negombo to Colombo the train stops at the Ragama train station on your way. The National Basilica in Thewatte Ragama is the only Roman Catholic Basilica in Sri Lanka which is a beautiful place to visit and say a prayer if you both like to do, during your visit and stay in Sri Lanka. The spices are truly unparalleled, not only bursting with flavor but also packed with health benefits. They’re rich in vitamins and can be particularly helpful for those with conditions such as diabetes, kidney issues, constipation, and high cholesterol. While you're there, here are some delicious dishes you might want to try (unless you've already had them): 1). Dry Fish (either milky or fried) 2). Polos Curry (tender jackfruit) and Bitter Gourd Curry (excellent for diabetics) 3). Sprats Curry (small fish) with boiled jackfruit and coconut 4). Thambili (King Coconut - great for kidney health) 5). Sri Lankan Biriyani (try Banana Leaf Restaurant in Bambalapitiya) 6). Fried King Fish and Fried Prawn (Shrimps). 7). String Hoppers with Kiri Hodi (milky coconut gravy), sambal, dhal, and either king fish or chicken curry 8). Kottu Roti (with chicken or egg) 9). Sri Lankan Faluda (a sundae-style drink with rose-flavored milk, ice cream, vanilla, chocolate, topped with nuts, and raisins) 10). Egg Hoppers with chicken curry and dhal 11). Devilled Crab Curry with Fried Rice (available at Changos Park View, Fife Road, Colombo. They also serve the best mixed Chopsuey Rice in town) 12). Sri Lankan Ginger Beer (cold - EGB) 13). Fish Rolls and Egg Rolls 14). Authentic Rice & Curry with Papadum (just like the one you featured in this video) 15). Sri Lankan Lump Rice wrapped in banana leaf 16). Jaffna Food (rice and curry, dosa, vada), if you happen to go to Jaffna side (Norther SL). 17). Tempered Kadala (Chickpeas) with Scraped Coconuts and Dry Red Chilli 18). Achcharu is a mix of pickled veges + spices (carrots, raw papaya, chillies onions etc etc). You should try that next time. Either malay or sinhala. one of my fav dishes.

Curry powder in Sti Lanka contains the highest number of spices in the world. Many aromas but not all are hot. They are cinnamon , turmeric, ginger, cumin, coriander, fenugreek, lemon grass, curry eaves, nutmeg, mustard, cloves, cardamom. black seed, dill seed, garcinia cambogia, and many other ingredients English names not known to name. They are used in different proportions sun dried to be powdered. Cumin snd coriander sre used in larger proportions.
