Thirty years ago, Himchori used to be exceptionally beautiful. There was no marine drive, so during low tide, we had to hire a 4x4 jeep and drive through the beach. We had to return before high tide, or else risk being stuck for six hours. Nowadays, everything is overly commercialized.

When I went to Cox's Bazar in 1999, that waterfall was really big. It's completely dead now. Himchari was a nice place back then. No ticket counters, shops, or people. Just a big waterfall, lots of trees, and sand...that's it.

I personally liked mermaid beach resort than any other hotels/resorts of Cox's bazar. I think sayeman got its popularity because of its location. But to me, I like Cox's tranquility and calmness more. That's why a lot of people prefer saint Martin island than the main beach. And I'll always prefer mermaid resort 😌 (although the mosquitoe issue is too much to handle at night. I don't know if they overcame this issue. I mean it's sensible tho, all these bushy trees after all 😂).

I went to visit Cardiff castle and I saw they have charged me more money for ticket than the Local people. in UK there are some place where foreigner have to pay more than the Local People. Bro trust me, if you still happen to be around there, St. Martin's Beach is a MUST. You should really check it out; 10x better than Cox's Bazar. Although you gotta check if the ships are going there this month; they usually close during the summer.
