The way we write numbers now is a bit different, for example 7 originally has a base line and a line in the middle and 8 is actually 2 squares not 2 circles.

We use metric and imperial here in Canada. By code we use metric but sometimes when we build, depending where materials comes from, it could be both. Example, our cabinet boxes are measured in imperial because that's how our sheets come. But all the hardware is metric because it's made in Europe. It's nice knowing both
