You can build a map screen in any of your little outpost and it will show you the area better on the 1st magnification. Maybe build a base right next to your ore extractors with a teleporter in it?

@@ImKibitz we hopefully will have a solution for getting more Pulsar quartz in the next update, PQ has been a major talking point on the discord being that its super rare now , the dev's say it's a balancing issue atm , now that Zeolite is infinite, dev didn't want everyone to have or make infinite PQ, atm because that would be game breaking , reminder it is EA and PQ is a work in progress

Ikhlas the author and builder of the secret base in the meteor crater is not a prisoner, they are actually the last survivor of one of the crashed ships that crashed many years before we arrive. Xiodan is the prisoner like us tasked to terraform the planet. Also there is another golden chest increasing the total to 12 now, above the sandfall. If you go to the middle of the sandfall area and look a the middle of the sandfall, use the jetpack to fly up the sandfall you'll see a bunch of rocks and under a rock in a small nook there is a golden chest.

FWIW the bases in the meteor crater biome don't belong to our predecessor (Xiaodan), but to Ikhlas, the survivor from the big crashed ship in the desert a few decades ago. Looks like his story was a little more like a regular space survival game 😸

The sand waterfall has a cave in it and if you use the jetpack you can just fly up the cliff of the sandfall. It works elsewhere too.

You should just keep the resources needed to teleport with you then have instant return to base and back function if low on inventory or water / air.

I don't think that person is a prisoner, I am pretty sure they are a crash survivor. I also don't think that there are all that many prisoners, as few as 3 including ourselves, everyone else we have seen where colonist or crash ship survivors. (Just a guess based on what I am see and have seen so far, there is a huge mystery here.) Thanks for the hard work Kibitz, really enjoying your content.

That glowing rock in the crater - I think it changes size over time. In my game (over 1TTi) it's gone, the island is just green with small rocks all over the island and sides of crater. In another youtuber's game the glowing rock is bigger than the one Kitbitz sees. Maybe it grows then volcano erupts?

Yeah I noticed this too. In my world, there's kind of a hole between the two sides of the rock, Kibz rock is too small for that, and I've read several people say they don't have a rock at all. Initially I though it was just not loading in, but something is clearly weird about it, like it's sinking or dissolving.

I had a dream where the Devs added water pumps and water as a requirement for nuclear reactors and you filled a lake with hundreds of pumps, and piping drove you crazy, but maybe that was another game... :) Great video series so far Kibitz, you've made an early stage game very enjoyable to watch, and given it much hype as it deserves. To my knowledge there will be no fighting/killing in the game, so I think those lasers were deco. I do wish that after you terraformed to a point, the sand falls turned into waterfalls. That would be SSSSUPAH SEXY!

Lol, it's always fun to clip the rockets together. Yeah clipping out of the world is dangerous with all of the invisible walls and such. Perhaps that large vessel in the new The Arches biome, with all that equipment on board, is a science vessel? When you went through the pulsar quartz cave, and came out the top and discovered you were at the top of the sand falls, from that spot, if you go left, there is another golden crate just amongst the rocks there.

If you are playing on standard difficulty, there is a duplication glitch you can do with fusion reactors to get more pulsar quartz. They will obviously add more in later on and more ways to get it, but its just if you want multiple teleporters now. 1. Build a Rocket Platform 2. Get the materials for a fusion generator in your inventory 3. Select the Fusion Generator in your build list as if you were going to build it. 4. Do not close this, keep it as if you are about to build it 5. Climb to the top of the rocket platform, and jump off until you are out of food and about to die 6. Go onto the rocket platform to die 7. With the fusion reactor still selected post-death, place it where you respawn. (The game allows you to build this for less resources because it thinks you still have all the mats.) 8. Go back to the rocket platform, to collect your dropped loot 9. Dismantle the fusion generator. If you are lucky you should have duped at least some of the pulsar quartz.

There are multiple stories in the planet's lore. Xiaodan was a prisoner who landed in the weird blue area, failed his mission because the planet wasn't ready yet, went insane, and died in that secret cave behind the rock you found a while ago, but Ikhlas was just a regular guy who was on the huge ship that wrecked in the sand dune area. The bunker closest to that wreck has an entry from him saying he survived the wreck or something (I don't remember exactly but that's basically what he says) and then he pops up in a few other places talking about his progress surviving on the planet. So the entry you found in that crater base isn't him deciding to not finish his prison sentence, it's him realizing he might not want to escape, and hinting that there's something weird about the planet: "the more time I spend here, the more I want to stay..." I want to say there's one other prisoner who has some journal entries, but the only names I can remember right now are Ikhlas and Xiaodan. Anyway the lore seems very mysterious so far, I am looking forward to seeing what the story ends up being (and seeing if Ikhlas survived)

Yeah i want to find out about ikhlas, xiao and the two people who send us messages. Here is the timeline I've gathered. 3021 the ship by the normal starter base crashes. I believe the note is unsigned. 3034 the stargate crashes. the note is unsigned. 3037 Ikhlas' first note in the tiny bunker by the huge ship in sand dunes. 3038 ikhlas' note in the bottom of the meteor crater. 3041 ikhlas' note in the upper meteor crater. 3055-3056 xiao's notes. 3058, our first message from sentinel corp. there are two other people who send messages to us, one is Riley, who's someone we know and one is another prisoner. I like to think they are on that nearby planet that looks pretty far along in its terraformation. I haven't opened that door in the cave yet (super alloy cave?). It's easy to miss and looked only a little suspiciously man-made.

Read the update notes. Pulsar Quartz is meant to be a finite resource so that you have to prioritize what you want to build with it. Miners are not coded to extract the Pulsar Quartz, so even if you can build above it will most likely be Iron or Zeolite.

But that is mostly on the sheer scale of the effort and how to make sure your effort doesn't evaporate like the last atmosphere. Needless to say, nobody wants to play a game where you have to spend centuries on the first step in optimal conditions, which you are so far removed from in this game it's not even funny.

If teleporting technology is a thing in this universe, why dont they build 2 teleporters, one on this planet, another in the atmosphere of a gas giant, to instantly import insane amounts of atmosphere, instead of having drills making pressure? Kinda screws up the entire game logic, when they add teleporters.

Well depends on how the teleporters work, instead of moving your physical form over they could always just take a scan of your body and send the information over and the simultaneously delete and rebuild your body in the new place.

If you can manipulate raw matter and mass to form into a human again, you can also manipulate it to form everything needed for terraforming. I don't honestly care for realism in the game, just adding my two cents

Well, you can always look at it that way: Moving a small amount of mass or information over a short distance like this takes a lot of energy, but moving huge amounts of gasses (which is also mass) from another planet (which is a very long distance away by comparison) would probably take so much energy you couldn't run it unless you had like a massive powerplant already operational. Kinda breaks the scope of what one person could achieve even with all that wonky technology. Also, the teleporters must have limited range, otherwise the space prison labor corporation wouldn't send the blueprints for that stuff to it's unwilling slaves lest they could easily scan for other teleporters in range and flee.

There's a fatal mistake in terraforming Mars that way. You see, we humans are design around Earth gravity acceleration velocity that is 9,8 m/s, and Mars has 1/3 of the gravity so 3,7 m/s. So humans couldn't function properly on Mars if it was terraform that way of Planet Crafter. You first need to do a artificial bombardment of asteroids to increase the mass of the planet and only when you reach a satisfactory gravity you can do the other part of terraforming. People miss the "terra" on the name, it means earth. So you're molding the planet, not only the surface and the atmosphere, that's like the last part actually.
