@@MessrDookie101 I refuse to third wheel any situation. If they don't want me there then fine, I don't want to be around them, either. Learned this lesson the hard way and if anyone does that shit to me I'm done. True friends are there for eachtoher and don't lie.
@sirshrooma Жыл бұрын
@@reidhanson4755 I mean third wheeling can take many forms, they don't have to NOT want you around. It can be the opposite, where they want you around but don't really ask themselves about the group dynamic once you're there. My longtime friend just invited me last week to spend the day at an arcade bar downtown with him and his girlfriend. Problem is, they don't operate as individuals when they're together so the vibe would've been one where I became the third wheel. But they're the also type of people that would try to compensate for me being a third wheel by giving me way too much superficial attention and suddenly it's like I'm getting interviewed, or that they're watching someone's dog. It's exhausting, so I said I'd accept only if other people were meeting us. Next thing I know they hit me up and say they got more people coming, only it's just another couple. Now it's a double date. Yet they want me along as the fifth wheel by this point? I just told them that I'm not trynna feel like a comedic relief character on a couples cruise, and said I'd pass. We all moved on. I agree that third-wheeling isn't for me, but people don't always mean to be malicious when you end up as one.
@aarontooth Жыл бұрын
@@sirshroomahonestly dood, I think you need different levels for different situations. It comes across super heavy if you're talking about all of these conditions for when you'll come and stuff. It looks like people are making an effort to include you. I mean, maybe you are busy anyway and just don't have time to deal with it; but me personally, I need all the friends I can get. So if you can see it's going to be a bit sketch as "third wheel," just set low expectations and go in at that level instead, that you might be soloing part of it, and maybe you'll leave early for your next event. Go get some dranks, snacks, have good vibes and stuff, work on your high score. And even if it's not your girlfriend, it's probably still fun to talk to that chick. Just my perspective.
@JD-qo9wk Жыл бұрын
@sirshrooma wtf this is absolutely wild, borderline narcissistic. They were nice enough to invite you and you go "no absolutely not. Not unless you invite other people so I don't feel left out... Oh you went to even more effort and found more people? Another couple? Pffff double date. NO! IM NOT TRYING TO BE COMEDIC RELIEF. DENIED." Wait and see - pretty soon you're not gonna be asked to do anything by anyone and you'll be wondering why. That's exactly why. I honestly cannot believe this and the fact you used it as an anecdote in the context of giving advice on social situations to someone else!? You must be taking the absolute piss!
