Perhaps an aquired taste, but I love Bonito grilled and especially smolked...Congrates on the Yellow Tail...Well done for out of a kayak...

Couple weeks earlier, I made a small one that I caught in the surf into sushi, little strong tasting, but not terrible if you get rid of all the dark meat. I’m not sure I could handle the dark meat though.

@@capefalconkayak Raw..."dark meat"...Bonito...is just too much for most folks if not a true lover of seafood...I don't recommend larger fish anyway because of mercury build up if you eat a lot of fish. Smoked, even the dark meat is tasty to most folks that like seafood even at an average level. I kept thinking your triggerfish look like what we call here in Australia leatherjackets, just looked it up and yeah they are from the same family. Leatherjacket aren't considered good eating though and we always throw them back. That yellowtail is massive, great job on landing that.
