This would've also been like the perfect time for an otherwise unused move...but Snorlax had Guard *Split* (which would average the Defenses and Special Defenses of the battlers...without taking boosts into consideration) instead of Guard *Swap* (which switches stat boosts). I can only imagine what would've ensued had Snorlax survived a hit to steal the entire boost...

It could've mattered, they had the same speed, so it was a speed tie. It was 50/50 who would attack first.

@@determineddaaf3, that was only at that level. The battle was set to level 50 instead of their starting level (69), so the stats will be reduced commensurately. The Kabutops had a Speed-boosting nature (Timid, if you were curious...drops Attack in exchange) while the Salamence was Brave (Attack boost, Speed drop); if you plug the pertinent stats into a stat calculator, you find out that a Timid 31 IV Kabutops will always outspeed a Brave 31 IV Salamence (Timid, 31 Speed IV, 0 EV Kabutops hits 110; Brave, 31 Speed IV, 0 EV Salamence tops out at 108). This means that, simply by virtue of a better nature and even a slightly higher Speed IV, it really didn't matter.

That Kabutops had a plus speed nature and the Salamence had a minus speed nature. Even then, they still actually had the exact same speed stat at level 69 when you were showing them off. Might have been a speed tie and normally Kabutops is definitely NOT faster than Salamence.

So a few repeating things I keep seeing on their videos is the abilities they mess up which honestly some abilities are confusing so it's understandable but the ability mummy doesn't steal their ability it turns both characters ability into mummy and then the ability Shields down is a specific to minior so it won't work on anyone else it was just you so people could see the colour of its core

Only at level 69 (which is where they set their "starters" levels)...the battle is set to level 50, meaning the only things involved in Speed are base stats, IVs, EVs (which they don't have), nature, and (occasionally) abilities. At level 50, they overlap between 94 (Salamence minimum Speed) and 145 (Kabutops maximum)...not impossible.

Speed tie for the Kabutops and the Salamance, as if you go back to the team recap, he has a GREAT natured Kabutops which raised its normal 80 speed to 138 tiring Salamance in which didnt have a nature that boosted speed.

The fact the Kabutops had a speed raising nature and Salamce had a speed lowering nature was such a hat trick for Chillin. Normally Salamanca is much faster than Kabutops (+30 base speed). I went back into the video to confirm that. But that wouldn't be enough for Kabutops to outspeed. Kabutops had favorable IVs in speed and Salamance had unfavorable. The universe decided that Chillin would have the fastest Kabutops ever and QuickGG would have the slowest Salamance ever.
