Another great value pistol from WE. I'm very impressed about WE's replication of the real gun's features, certainly more attention to detail than you get with most other GBB makers.

Yeah I bet!! I was in the Portuguese regular army (1985-1986)and we still had it. We had it (the P-38)since the 60s umtil the end of the century. I do not know when our "ilumineted" changed exactly but now they all got Glocks 17. Before the P-38, we had Lugers!! How I love both of them. Someday I will buy the WE P-38 as it is the most closer to the real steel we had, now sold in Europe. I wonder who is selling it inside the shengen's space. ( But I'd love to buy a Maruzen, or Marushin both Japanese and much more accurate to the real steel... But it is impossible to find them here 😢)

The finishing of this particular model, is very similar to the post war P-38s that we had in the army from the 60s ( when we did stop usig the Lugers ) in the country where I live: Portugal, but ours were post-war models, of course, so the frame is hard aluminum.

Hi! Thank you for your video! This model of the P-38 is a WWII version as the Post War Real Steel ones had a two tones black as the frame is made of a hard aluminum bright painted for sure with a spray painting, while its all upper parts are, of course made of steel with the usual Walther black finnish. I had it as a side arm in 1985/6 when I was at the portuguese army.

I really love the P38 design. Almost ordered a Umarex CO2 4.5mm, as it seemed to be the best replica that was readily availible and for airsoft I figured I'd stick to the Luger PO8. Having seen this I sure am glad I didn't order that Umarex. Only thing that would make this better is imitation bakelite grips. Great video!
@ioannisimansola71154 жыл бұрын
Bought it too BUT careful when you leave gas into the co2 bottle it destroyed the valve and had to be repaired as was unable to hold the co2. Other than that the BBs had a speed of 400+ fps and accuracy was satisfactory

Finally, mine one has arrived.. only due to me waiting so long to get one.. they are a good little pistol for sure. there has been the odd time where BBs have shot upwards out through the breach while firing.. LOL a little disconcerting having BBs shooting up 90 degrees from what you're aiming at. It seems to work well enough on Green Gas, the first magazine fill up straight out of the box was gone in less than one magazine fill of BBs 10-12... however since then it varies between 4-5 magazine loads of BBs which is really good in my book.. Great thorough review, it's been very helpful except one thing... can you guess what that is? which way do you turn the hop up screw to make it either hop up or down? ;-) Hey ho, I'll have to experiment some more..

Nice review, thanks! The features that you mention which are similar to the Beretta m92/m9 all derive from the P38, not the other way round. I have a rs M9 (which I love), and a friend that I go to the range with has a WWII P38. Interesting to compare the two. When I first shot the P38, it was the mag release that got me every time. There's a Forgotten Weapons video on youtube where Ian talks about P38 development, and highlights the features that were borrowed by Beretta.

The M-9s family is a redesigned P-38s as I am aware of that. Back in 1937/8 they ( the Pietro Beretta ) did not have nothing similar. The lock work of both real steel ones is prety much identical, see their double action and single action, as is the short recoil, as is their safeties and their locations, and thier dissassembling lever system, not to mention the 9X19mms cartridge... To me, this time the old Beretta brand did not invented anything that special when they came up with their M-92s...

Excellent review, I can only agree with you I was quite surprised how tightly constructed this replica is, mine is rattle free too. My only gripe is that mine shoots very low @12 inches at 6 yards, fiddling with the hop up makes little difference, not too troubling though as I mainly just like it as a collectors piece.
@ApurtureSci7 жыл бұрын
profrumpo I've just done some shooting and indeed it does shoot a bit low, since the inner barrel moves independently maybe it can be adjusted with some tape on the underside.

Hello! Great review, thank you! Would you be so kind as to tell me, whether it is a good pistol for plinking sometimes in the garden or not? Mainly I'd like to use it as a decoration, but of course, sometimes I would like to shoot down some coke cans. Was it reliable or it has some problems in general? I like the German ww2 guns, I like that model, but I don't know is it worth or not its price. Thanks and all the best!
@ApurtureSci4 жыл бұрын
I'm glad you enjoyed the video, thanks for watching. Yes I think this is an excellent gun to have in a collection and shoot on occasion. It has a very satisfying kick and the performance is more than adequate for plinking. Like most other pistols, they aren't quite as accurate or consistent as a Tokyo Marui, but the detail and quality of construction makes up for that! I had no reliability issues that I can think of, and they aren't very expensive either.

@huwug5 жыл бұрын
So... Bit late but I did put real steal grips on the we p38. The size is just right, the only thing you need to do is make minor adjustments to the rs grip becouse of one screw and you need to find something to hold the spring for the trigger Bar in place. The rs grips feel a lot better than the Plastik ones so it is worth the effort.
@topazcat1 Жыл бұрын
Looks Great, BUT in practical use, one would'nt fire, returned it. Got another(replaced by WE) thanks to the warranty. the second one had a problem with the Magazine Catch derailing inside the handle. Long story Short I had to use dense Foam to not allow it to derail inside behind the grips. Then I gaff taped it along the seam to give it support. Also using propane I can only get 6-8 BB's fired before it stops fireing, so 14 BB's No. So limited practicality. In spite of it's good looks.
