If PRC did add AI traffic, they should only add civilian vehicles so that way there aren't too many FD, PD, Sheriff, or DOT vehicles running around at the same time. Also, there should be a setting for the amount (1 - 10) of AI traffic that you can set in a private server.

I’ve been playing Ai test for the past year now and I just can’t get over it. The devs keeping adding new vehicles (most recently motorcycles) there is a new highway extension, police and swat as well as FBI are becoming more and more smart, and the crash physics are just insane for a Roblox game. It keeps getting better and better and I think it has the potential to outgrow ERLC IF the dev decides to make it into a game more than a testing place. The testing place itself has become a game too.

@@dwr1001 much of this is because of roblox’s relatively low server specifications, some players figured out from benchmarking in studio that the server specification is most likely a 7th gen Xeon server, which isn’t that powerful compared to most non-roblox game servers are running P2P or have outsourced their own hosting to more capable third party providers.

I haven't had the opportunity to work with AI within Roblox Studio or with Lua personally, but I've been using Studio and playing Roblox for many years now. I appreciate your understanding of how the servers operate and the potential for lag when too much is added, leading to crashes. However, it's important to consider that many players on ER: LC use lower-end devices that may struggle to handle heavy traffic. While you touched on this, you also suggested a toggle and I noticed a few comments about setting the amount of traffic per client. Although I haven't delved into the specifics of AI or AI traffic myself, I can imagine that this could impose some challenges for the developers. Implementing a traffic limiter or toggle may have server-side implications, considering the varying connection speeds of the server and client for every player. For instance, one player may stop behind an AI car, while another player who disabled the AI wonders why the first player is stopped so far away from the stop sign. This could disrupt immersion and potentially confuse players. Furthermore, the addition of AI could exacerbate vision lag, compounding the existing issues in Roblox games. Therefore, adding more scripts and models could potentially worsen the problem of vision lag in ER: LC making the AI just look sloppy and then restarting the infinite loop of the ER: LC fanbase crying for updates and then crying about said updates. So in short, this would be a pretty cool feature but I don't see this being a good update any time soon, ESPECIALLY in a game like ER: LC. The AI test is cool and a well-done showcase of how AI COULD be implemented but it would be way too much for PRC to add to the already large game that is getting bigger and more elaborate by the months. Our new roleplay game: Los Vientos is actually planning on implementing this on a huge scale, with random world events, smart Npc traffic, you will be able to steal the npcs vehicles, crash into them and they’ll yell at you, ect

It wouldn't even be that hard to do. All the programming needed would roughly be about randomly determining directions at every intersection, adding some other functions to add character to the AI, and having them react to external stimuli (ie yielding to EMS with ELS on)

@@Fishys_Channel Those calls aren't actual AI. They don't have any randomness to their action, and move in preset actions based on the state of repair. Everyone refers to them as bot cars or AI calls, but the literal only element of randomness to those calls are their spawn locations, *Which are selected from a predetermined list. The random stuff isn't even random!*

I think adding a whole different game with AI traffic and the same map as ERLC would be a lot better in my opinion but I don’t know how hard that would be because I’ve never made my own game, would love AI traffic in the main as well but also if players can turn it on and off it would be weird if you had it on to see a player who has the setting off drive through ai cars when they don’t see it, and just the lag too. But great topic.

AI police like in AI test would be so fun because then roleplays will be enhanced. For example, a police officer requests a swat unit and soon a bearcat will arrive filled with npcs that have the same gear as the swat gamepass. This could be a bit broken through as npcs would likely have less recoil then normal players. Also PRC should add AI robberies as it is usually very hard to catch a criminal who does a jewellery store robbery because by the time you respond they already left.

They did add AI cars in a way. The DOT traffic stop calls where you replace a tire or charge a battery end with the AI cars driving off and despawning. They could maybe build off of this.

One way GTA manages loading map data while playing is when you are loading too much while driving a car actually will like swerve over to slow you down so it can load you can see videos all over about it

yo what if rather than full blown ai police we could instead employ a new concept where a police officer of upon attaining a rank say sergeant for example could have option to call for ai police officers as backup during emergencies like shooting or chasing of a suspect .The amount of ai police officers who can be spawned can also be limited like for example for sergeant only 2 police officers and also we can optimize the vehicles and the arnaments which will be used by the ai police officers depending upon the rank of the player

One problem with being able to disable AI traffic. If people were to be racing or there was a police chase one player could crash into a car while one gets away. Just would make the game kind of unfair, so maybe there should be servers based off of what your device can run.

They should add ai traffic and people like they could be a serial killer NPC that kills other NPCS for a halloween event and the police could try and solve the mystery on who it is and ai could walk around and rob some stuff and police could pull ais over and stuff like that and of course if you have ipad that couldn’t run it you could disable it and it would add a lot of life to the game and people could interact with them and stuff and they could have ai workers who can work at coffee shops and stuff and bus drivers and pick other ais up and if you select the postal job or bank job and stuff the ai could help you or you could have the choice to remove the ai and work by yourself and also you could add some ais that come to the coffe shop or gas station or bank to order stuff and one could rob the place it would be really cool and I know this isn’t related but a city revamp of the layout would be cool centre the city around the river and make the highway be elevated and then go trough the city and have roads under it and add more skyscrapers and they definitely could add a court and it would be really cool to see if the city had the highway be elevated while going into river city and it kinda rap around the suburbs of the city and the make the city a bit larger and keep we’re the spawn is and then make it go over to the jail I know it’s a lot but it wouldn’t be one update also they could just add an ai that commits crimes and some that kill other npcs
