We cruised to LA PALMA and tackled the VIRTUAL QUEUE onboard P&O AZURA - DAY 5 VLOG

On Day 5 of our P&O Azura cruise we visited the port of Santa Cruz de La Palma. This was our first time visiting the port and we went ashore independently and were really impressed. We spent some time on the pool deck enjoying the daily activities and events provided by the onboard entertainment teams. We go through our daily drinks spend and discuss why the drinks package is worthwhile for us. During the evening we dined once again in the Meridian Restaurant and talk you through the advantages of using the onboard Virtual Queue. We are treated to a spectacular show in The Playhouse and end the evening with Jack Ryan the onboard comedian in the Manhattan.

P&O Azura was launched in April 2010 and is a part of the "Grand-class" of ships in P&O Cruises' fleet. It has a passenger capacity of around 3,100 guests, and it offers a variety of cabin types, including inside cabins, outside cabins, balconies, and suites. The ship's design emphasises a relaxed and modern cruising experience, catering to a range of travellers, from families to couples.
We are Tom and Dom and we experienced our first cruise on the MSC Virtuosa during her UK staycation cruises in 2021. We are relatively new to cruising, however we can now say we are officially hooked.
Our mission is provide a fair and balanced review of our travels. We look at the types of food that is available onboard, from main dining rooms, room service, buffets and pool side snacks. We include menus for each of cruises so that we can share the selection of drinks and meals that are available. Entertainment onboard a cruise ship is important to us and we enjoy theatre production shows, live music, quizzes and game shows. We love to explore different ports and destinations and enjoy sharing tips and tricks so that you can make the most of each port. We often explore ports independently but also book excursions that are interesting to us.
We have created a list of our cruise essentials. These are items we take with us when we travel and we hope they may be useful to you. We have also added a Wine list which contains some of the wines we have tried whilst cruising.

Just back from our cruise on Azura,we thoroughly enjoyed it and with the help of your videos we managed to make the most of our time ashore, we found the little market in la palma with lady making sugar cane drink it was delicious, we also had a few of the Poncha drinks in Funchal ,strong but yummy Thanks for all your hints and tips.

Tom: 'Stick with the hot chocolate and call it a night - works for me 😉'. It is clear Dom received adulterated digestive biscuits - mystery solved 😏. Chalk it up to water retention and enjoy the cruise with abandon. Thanks for another great video.

We have just come home after three fabulous weeks on Azura, and there was no virtual queue on the app for dining or the theatre. Looks like they have done away with it now.

We were on Azura last week & found the removal from the app of the Virtual Queue for the Main Dininig Room a major negative. We were told it's now been removed from Ventura too (we used it all the time on Ventura last November). We have written to P&O asking if they plan to remove it from other ships too, but haven't heard back from them yet. We were told it was a result of "customer feedback". Not sure who requests less choice. Hanging around in a queue, or loitering around close by with a pager were options before they removed the Virtual Queue.

It’s really hit and miss with P&O. On Azura they were nearly all pre mixed
