fellow late game player here gato amigo strat works well with other surge immune units, like satoru and lasvoss reborn. you could use your newly acquired skills of timing (because you are now late game player, congrats) with stone cat (sync it correctly with kappy's attack to make him miss) and cameraman (stacked dps), along with research combos

I’ll say this, sniper is insane here, you should definitely still use him. Gato amigo really only works with a ranged unit to snipe Cappy like dkasli, but you could use cyberpunk here he works pretty well. Idi is also really good here but obviously you haven’t done much of UL yet. Use cancan for sure and pizza, glass, balrog is actually good here as well as a strong fisherman cat.

but there is one unit now that he could use that would both have the build of an Uber and would still be respected for him using: Jagando. When it comes to the common strats, jagando actually doesn’t sync well with them (it is extremely hard to spawn jagando while consistently spawning cameras, and jagando’s knock back ability could screw up boulder rhythms) however, he does work if you make your line up around him specifically, such as using metal cat along with the usual support for this stage like glass, gato, slime (since he has it now), bullet train, green shell, and rock (he isn’t the main meatshield in this type of strat due to the lack of research combos but he still helps fill in gaps in your meatshielding. And since Chawsey can’t use cyber, asilan actually makes a good replacement, albeit one who exchanges damage with not having a blind spot, he even has the same talents (slow and survive) in addition to a dodge talent which while it doesn’t happen often it could save it from a surge spawning on it if it’s survivor is used up (and yes dodge does protect and proc on surges, I learned that from using bellydancer in ashes just ahead)

Also, to beat kappy use stone cat and glass cat because the levels dont matter a lot since they die in 1 hit, when they hit kappy, it triggers his attack but since there is nothing else there, the surge doesnt happen

Boulder cat's level honestly doesn't matter, he's just as good at level 10 as he is at lvl 50... and he would've been great for this stage, he would've been a meat shield that triggers kappy's attack, but then dies immediately afterwards causing Kappy to miss, meaning he doesn't do surge...

I recommend using boulder cat as you can time him so he baits out the kappas attack so he doesn't surge. I also recommend using cyberpunk too and keep sniper and glass cat as they're super good. Tourist cat can be good here as well. Fishman can be great for killing the owlbrows and cancan can be really good too. If you're gonna be using the camera research up strat then stop using gato amigo. Darktanyan is really good for this stage as well as any surge immune uber. You can try using kasli as well. Overall this is a really hard stage but I think you are fully capable of beating this stage. Good luck Chawesy.

There is a strat you can do to defeat kappa jr with stone cat, and research cat combo. You can time stone cat to infinitely stall kappa and use some kind of long range unit or surge immune cat to attack kappy. You also can’t forget about the owlbrows and relics in this stage, so prepare for that

Hello Chawesy.I just wanted to say thank you for making my day with your videos. Your hollow knight and battle cats series are some of my most favourite videos on youtube. I wanted to give you some tips to help In this stage. I would not recommend any ubers in the stage aside from dark kasli since there is not enough money and the uber will likely die very easily anyway. The strategy I would recommend is to use boulder cat (evolved form of stone cat) because his speed and health will guarantee that he will trigger kappy jr's attack and because the surge only spawns when an attack hits something and boulder cat will disappear by the time the attack hits him it will hit nothing causing no surge. With at least 2 small research up combos or one medium research up combo kappy Jr can be stalled indefinitely. So I would suggest to use 2 small or 1 medium research combo at least,rock cat,cameraman cat because of his range allowing him to attack from a range and be a incredible meatshield,fishman cat for the owlbrows as they are the only source of money in the stage,and then strong area attackers like pizza or housewife cat for the peons.I would not suggest cats like crystal macho or vendor because their knockback can mess with timing. For items I would highly suggest rich cat because money is tight in the stage,I don't suggest sniper cat because it can also mess with timing. It may take a few tries to get boulder timing right but I find this strategy pretty consistent and the reward is True form of teacher Bearcat which is very good vs zombies. Sorry the audio got borked yesterday, but we are here now! Welcome to late game, fellow late game player! I found what really helped me was Boulder AND Crystal cat with your strongest research combos. that way you can constantly have a boulder or crystal on the field slowing kappy to a standstill and making it miss the surge (cant hit what isn't there!). As for the rest of the lineup, I ignored relic as the biggest threat I had was the owl. Aside from that, I know that you know what's good! Always love your videos!

Some advices here 1. Use rock cat. Time him so that he hits kapps or get in kappas range right after he hits the ground with his stick. If done correctly(which is not that hard), will cause kappa to trigger his next attack(hold him in his place for a while until his attack animation finishes) and miss his surge as well. 2. Gato amigo only works if you have a surge immune unit who will destroy kappa from the backlines. Else, gato amigo will be continuously triggering kappa's surge which will cause your normal ranged stack to die. 3. Kappa's surge will only activate if there is something in his range when he hits the ground with his stick. 4. Cyberpunk is really useful here to slow kappa and his support. 5. slime cat will almost never get a hit off if theres a relic doge in front of kappa. 6. if kappa is at the middle-ish of the battleground, spawn rock cat when he takes out his stick from his mouth, it will time it nicely so that advice(1) will happen.

I have so much to say to where I don't know if i can fit it in 1 comment, but here goes... 1. Kappy wasn't creating surges because he was missing 2. You shouldn't have used meatshields or any short-ranged units in the first stage 3. I'm a late game player too and I was shaking my head throughout the whole video 4. You should've used research combos for cameraman in the first stage 5. It was the relic monkey that killed sniper in the second stage, it has an LD range of 500-800 (Btw the relic monkey is called Loris)

Sending a glass cat as soon as you get the cash helps quite a bit. However the best thing to do is to only use ranged meatsheilds (cameraman and pizza) as that will prevent kappy from hitting as many attacks. Also you will need a research up combo to spam cameraman. Fishman can do well with killing the owlbrows and cyberpunk is a great crowd controller. Chawesy, to answer your question, Kappa didn’t do surge attacks because the scissoroo attacked at the same time Kappa was doing his attack. Therefore, Kappa didn’t hit anything, so the surge wasn’t triggered

Hey you should only use either immune to wave meat shields or ranged meat shields because if you use both, the immune to surge meat shields will trigger the surge, killing your ranged meat shields

I would say your best bet is cameraman and pizza, don’t use gato amigo unless you have an attacker that evades surge such as jagando. Ritual saint kasli might be helpful to keep the owlbrows and relic doges at bay, darktanyan is a keeper for sure, but yukimura might not be the best choice since he’ll get combined by the surf attack

Lasvos reborn when true formed is immune to all negative stats including the rare immunitys like surge and poison, thats why people think hes good, also bcs if u upgrade him to level 50 and if he is strengthened and does a savage blow he can do 1.1M damage in one hit. but his evolution is very expensive, u need a gold cat fruit, an elder cat fruit and 10 epic cat fruit seeds. U can only get a gold cat fruit from offering the cat shrine a million ex, its a 1% chance it will drop but after ever 30M ex spent its garenteed. and the epic cat fruit seeds only come from the growing epic stages, u need to clear the second continuation stage to get a seed.

gato amigo + cameraman = not that great of an idea. Maybe consider getting slime on your squad, he'd be very useful for clearing the peons and chipping down the backliners. Cyber punk could be usefull with gato however cyberpunk is very costly. Wish you the best of luck Chawesy.

OK so I actually beat bouth of theese stages with the same loadout so I think you should be able to do it aswell, I used two normal cats as meatshilds and catelite, macho crystal cat, green shell ( you can prob swith him out first ), cats in the cradle, shinji cat ( discount cats in the cradle ), asiluga true form and true form anubis with only imune to surge talent, its not the best strat but I did that when the stage only came out, if I tried it now I would put in cyberpunk next to asiluga ( invest in there talents ), glass, anubis ( darktanian in your case ( I dont have him 😧) ), cradle, pizza, catelite, camera and you can put in rock cat without upgrading it to much for extra defence, the rest is up to you, dont want to tell you how to do everything, good luck 👍
