Very cool video guys! The fun factor in smashing things at high speed against a steel plate is pretty dang high. I do have a couple of observations that I found interesting. Lots of heads held up pretty well but destroyed the insert/collar. You could see it busted out and swollen up pretty good which to me says that the head effectively transferred the energy into the arrow versus the head absorbing the the energy and blowing up entirely.
@TheElementWild2 жыл бұрын
Yeah you’re right. Those aluminum collars just aren’t really up to that kind of punishment. Those are Ethics components. The new Vector OPC is supposed to stand up the the steel test and I believe it will.

If you guys only thought about where you were standing when you shot the ones that surprised you by sticking into the steel, but it’s realy all chance, it’s where the broadhead hits the steel at the angle, affecting the way it will deflect, or the forward energy will cause it to find a way to stick in with the ferrule. Very cool and interesting test for sure, but man I think the only heads that I expected it from is Iron will, QAD, and possibly the grim reaper just because I know how well they are made. Very surprised in some, but not so much in many, such as the green shwacker that literally bent into a sofa can basically. But yes, let’s bring back the expandables ! Lol I love expandable heads I shoot hogs like y’all and being able to get a good blood trail, as well as getting good pass throughs, and hunting the swamps of Florida, I need that blood trail to find em!

@shawnhagen68712 жыл бұрын

@thatguyfishingben47942 жыл бұрын
I could support mechanicals if they were reliable enough at all angles. Shoot a frontal on a 200lbsish deer at 20 yards or so. Did that this past season and the current arrow (700 grains) broad head setup I'm using was sticking out the ham about 18 inches. So the full lenghth of a deer from the neck to the rear ham. I don't think any mechanical could do that. I don't have enough faith in them to try that shot but if you guys could do that and got even close to the same penetration I'd believe in them more. I've never lost a deer to a mechanical but I have had to many run off with most of my arrow still sticking out the wrong side. I don't wanna miss out on a deer cause I had to wait for the absolute perfect shot. I'd rather have something that gets the job done no matter what shot I get.
@d500mag22 жыл бұрын
They did try it, fortunately, the buck found a tree to run into. After shot, about 2 1/2 inches of penetration. Tree drove the arrow in another 18 - 24 inches.

Both. They are arrogant, and from what I have seen have the mentality that they can only make good shots and nothing can change that. Bigger names tried both the fairy and thp and after sitting down with the fairy have changed their tunes. The biggest problem is people don't actually listen and make assumptions about what he actually teaches. He has all the science and research to back his views up. They only have anecdotal evidence, that doesn't hold up to any true scrutiny
