I remember Isabella and Suvi once made a video and talked about how Isabella wanted to practice after school and Suvi didn't wanna do it so she just cracked jokes and played lol. This video seems like what had happened back then. It's heartwarming to see such a close friendship formed in a high pressured, competitive place like the Vaganova.
@balletwithisabellaАй бұрын
To be honest Suvi was also super serious and focused but Suvi needed to switch off and rest after classes which is totally fine and a totally normal thing to do. I was on the centre barre which came with a lot of high pressure from our teacher everyday so I felt compelled to practice. I HAD to. It became an absolute addiction for me. Having Suvi to support me through that was what bonded us for life. ❤
@davidcooper64Ай бұрын
@@balletwithisabella You don't act like the Prima in the movies. Maybe being in the Center means you don't need to. Eminem says you "lose yourself", where in your case perhaps it's something of a "meditation", visualizing the ideal and striving for that. Not necessarily in the Center of a competition. Not at all like how they portrayed Barishnikov -- as brutish. He's the only other ballet performer I remember the name of, and the movie about him defecting had him as a Primo I suppose it's called. Everybody didn't love him like everybody loves Isabella.
@balletwithisabellaАй бұрын
There’s also a huge difference. I had been there 2 years already ( another two to go) so I was very used to the routine by then. It was Suvi’s first year. I didn’t practice much the first 2 years as it was too exhausting and I was just trying to get used to it. 😅🤍

I'm in awe at the beauty, the elegance of this barre. I know you speak a lot about commitment, Isabella, and you often acknowledge how difficult ballet is for students and professionals alike. But I wonder if, because you and Suvi are such amazing dancers, and its your careers (therfore you live it every day) just how incredible your achievements are? To train the human body to move like this, its nothing short of amazing. I genuinely admire you both- and all students and professionals- very much indeed.

I really, really, enjoyed the fun you both had with this! It took off some of the anxiety with my attempt to take it with you. I studied Vaganova technique in America as a male student. it was the foundation of my early ballet training. My mother was a Vaganova teacher. Although my graduate ballet studies and professional career went on to more of the Balanchine style, my early Vaganova studies was an essential foundation throughout my ballet career. I really appreciate how you made this enjoyable, and I plan to use this KZbin class with you both weekly. Thank you!

ballet orginated in france . millions of westerm euopeans and american and austrlians and NZers do ballet too . i guess you stepped onto youtube for the first time yesterday .

@@tesselllation I'm sorry I don't remember who originated ballet but I appreciate your view that it was in France and I do love their terminology for the activity. Whoever originated it is beside the point being the Russians have undoubtedly mastered it taking it to extremely profound levels.

Hi Isabella, is your online platform with plans and classes suitable for adult ballet beginners? Or are you aiming it all at student dancers and established dancers? A few years ago in my 20s I was a strong adult ballet beginner, but now in my early 30s I'd like to get back into it soon. I'd like to attend classes in person, but I also like the look of what you're doing - if you think it would be suitable for me? But I don't imagine I'd ever be suitable for pointe shoes
