Best city to live in Australia. Great scenery, doesn’t rain much, food and craft beer scene, along with elite wine and whiskey. Awesome for outdoors people with lots of hiking, running and cycling routes. Homely feel, less stress, easy going and quiet. Moved here during the pandemic from Victoria, best decision ever made.

Aww i love tassie that my first home here in Australia! I also have the same reaction like stacy when she saw snow. Lol my first snow experience is lock up in the hotel room in launceston doing hotel quarantine. Love the first video on your tassie adventure but i got a hint your going to brunny island too! I can’t wait to see that one. I also made a small video of our travels in tassie. Can you guys come to Western Australia next. We’re currently living in Perth so much to see here. I’m going to go visit rottnest island tomorrow so excited for that 😊

Did you notice the "Colab" tap at the brewery...? When I went to Cascade, they had a colab with Hobart Brewing Co. called "Jam on Toast"... It was a Schwarzbier with raspberry ale...

It's like a place where the landscapes are so breathtaking, you'll start wondering if the air is thinner because you can't catch your breath and even the wallabies hop to a rhythm that sounds suspiciously like 'Waltzing Matilda'! Kidding aside, this makes me crave for an Australian adventure and I hope that my dart would let me experience this!

I’ve just discovered your channel- you guys are fantastic! As a former Tasmanian, I have to say: well done on hitting the market that early in the day! As the day goes on, it becomes more & more busy & crowded & not to mention, impossible to find parking anywhere nearby! I definitely had flashbacks to childhood trips up the mountain with the biting cold & the snow - although back then it didn’t have anywhere to escape the weather & of course if it was a good winter, you could get to decent snow without going up to the top so that you didn’t freeze your butt off! I can’t believe people didn’t warn you about needing to wear gloves though!! 😂😂😂 - as far as views, whilst the mountain is by far the best, in winter, your best option is probably going to be up the top of mount nelson unless it’s a clear day!
@DaneAndStacey Жыл бұрын
Glad you found us and thanks for commenting! Yup, with all the amazing recommendations we got, not one of them mentioned gloves 😂 To be fair, I'm sure you've seen it up there in much worse conditions but it was chilly for us

Hope you enjoyed your time there. Sending much love❤ from Richmond, Virginia Harriet, Jim and Yuki P.S. Harriet and I have a bet that if I buy tickets this fall for Flyer games you would not come. Who wins that bet ? Hmmm.

From a Tassie local, Mt. Wellington was always known as Mt. Wellington. Kunanyi label was recently added to signage within the last 10-15 years and I wouldn't of known the mountain's indigenous name until its more recent references.
@SanctusPaulus1962 Жыл бұрын
Can confirm. I've lived here all my life and have never heard a single person refer to Mount Wellington by its aboriginal name, except if they were intentionally going out of their way to be politically correct. Most of us just refer to it as "the mountain" anyway

Interesting to know, but not really surprising. Same goes in NZ with a lot of our Maori names having more commonplace now

Australians definitely pronounce scallop as if it was spelled scollop. The more naively phonetic pronunciation is more typically American. The more interesting controversy among Australians is whether a deep fried slice of potato that is a similar shape to a scallop shell, and is nothing like a cake, is correctly called a scallop or weirdly called a potato cake.
@DaneAndStacey7 ай бұрын
Phew! We know we have some different pronunciation's but we're glad that you're on our/NZ's side of the scallop!
