G'day all, i am the neighbour that helped you guys get going at Bell Gorge. Sorry your Gibb adventure came to a sudden end but at least you were able to get off it under your own steam. In a twist of fate exactly the same happned to our car at the El Questro end of the Gibb (water in the starter motor) we were able to roll start and get it sorted at Kununurra. Hopefully everything is ok now and you can continue with your adventure. I'll be sure to check in on your progress. Best of Luck

Hey guys, another fantastic vlog! 👍 the Gibb is quite a spectacular adventure 😮 the hikes were amazing and I can’t believe how you film them, really impressive Brett 👍 not only does it feel like we’re on the hike with you but we also get to see the amazing landscape along the way, very inspiring! As always, love the food segments 😊 those fish tacos looked delicious 🌮 keep the yummy dishes coming Brett. It’s a shame that you guys had starter motor issues 😫 what a major bummer 😔 but I must say you guys held your heads up high and soldiered on despite the adversity. And I must say Brett that it’s refreshing to see such an honest presentation and not what some KZbinrs get up to to entice a KZbin view with exaggerated claims about what disaster has happened to them!!! So good onya for not falling for that nonsense! Anyway hope it all got sorted out and take care and see you in the next vlog 👋

Thanks so much for such a thoughtful comment and for watching our vids, so stoked to have people like you watching. Really glad to hear that you've enjoyed the way we share our hikes, I love putting them together and the extra K's helps the waist line 😀. I also can't stand how some KZbinrs make their thumbnails look like they had a disaster when it really wasnt... but sadly it works. It feels like alot of the YT audience wants to see us have a bad time but those are not the kind of people I want as my audience, so as I said, we're glad to have you watching and thanks again for the lovely feedback 😊.

@@SvedosTrippin thanks for the reply Brett, yeah sadly exaggerating does attract peoples interest and I share your sentiment…we’ve steered clear of those sorts of vloggers as best we can 😀 all the best 👍

you need an air gap under the panels, as the heat builds, they become less efficient or cut some holes in the frame with a hole saw for air flow

Powers only an issue in winter. The sun is just further away, that combined with high temperatures. A month later now and we are getting enough solar again.

I travelled the Gibb in 1978 in an old Landy. Met a guy in a Holden panelvan towing a boat. Not so many vehicles on it in those days and I had no time limits so could take it easy. Mate was up there last year and commented how fast people drove.
@SvedosTrippin Жыл бұрын
I think alot of people try to "float" over the corrugations, but the van would take a flogging. We went nice and slow and enjoyed it very much.

@@SvedosTrippin so much to see so going easy is good for the vehicle and good for sightseeing. we took over a week to do it.

Hi Brett - keep an eye on your river crossings because the alternator in the BT-50/DMAX is down low.

yeah it sucks we didn't finish but at least we were able to drive off. plenty of people out there suffered far worse than us. We had every intention to back track and finish after the starter motor was replaced but then the "unseasonal rain" came in and shut down the Gibb... So another year for us I guess..

Love the budget meals and how creative you are with the vlog. Sorry you broke down it’s a real shame but you have a story to tell. Don’t stress too much you show the good times and challenges of being on the road. See you next week 🎉💙

Definitely keep the solar panels clean as the red dust covers them quickly and does make a difference. Just found you guys and loving your vids. We live in the Pilbara and know you’re going to love it, can’t wait to see where you get too 😊

Great video. Just some of the things we have to look forward to when we start travelling. Was thinking maybe one of the solar connections could be loose or have dust in it. I don't really know. Just a thought? Cars break down. I already have to replace the torque converter in my 2018 colorado. Its done no real work yet. Fantastic video 👌
@SvedosTrippin Жыл бұрын
Thanks so much. I think the lack of solar is just a winter thing. There is just less sun, but we also consume more power running the fridge. We're using 30% over night while in cooler climates we will only use 15% over night. So more sonsumption and less input = a deficit. It should get better as we move back towards summer. Thanks for watching.
