We Discovered a NEW Cave Stream in New Zealand w/ @KieranMckayNewZealandCaving

We stumbled across an unexplored cave stream on the West Coast of New Zealand. We told Kieran Mckay, one of the most prolific cave explorers of New Zealand about it, and he was excited to go dive it. We were eager to go help him carry some of his dive gear during the 2 hour hike to the cave. This was a tremendous experience and a great opportunity to learn whatever we could from Kieran.

Cool the way you just glided out at the end. Have you guys thought of recording soundscapes of these places as well? I know a few million people who would love to go to sleep to the natural sounds that accompany you on your journeys. For some reason I like the sound it makes after Jesse plunges beneath the waterline.

Most deep was 3 or 4 meters

Actually where he went diving was much deeper maybe 10 or 15 meters. 3 or 4 meters was the deepest part i went in

Wow, that was an amazing adventure, it's so beautiful down there! I assume the diver guy came back on time and no rescue was needed. How far did he get into the cave?

He made it through 3 or 4 more sumps, another 150 to 200 meters I believe. He made it back in 45 minutes. No rescue needed this time!!

They have cave Search and Rescue but they'd have to know exactly where to look for you
