Most people talk about salvation and Christianity as part of the old testament. Though the examplary life of the believer is very important to God, the Father doesn't in the new testament prioritise the works of the believer over his faith in the Christ. Why? Bcos we've been saved bcos of our faith in the finished works of the Christ our substitute. Any teaching or position contrary to that is not Christian.

What is life of Christ like? Believers are children of God bcos they believe Jesus is the Christ, they Son of God who died for them a nd rose again period! Believers are not or don't become sons or children of God bcos of what they do or do not. Let's stop being critical or judgemental in our views about believers. Let's say just what scripture says; any more or less is ungodly. The message of salvation is God's message of his grace towards sinners, ie all mankind. No one can obtain salvation by his own behaviour or character or works (Ephes. 2:8-9).Therefore those who think salvation is obtained by faith and our workers are seriously misreading their Bibles! Christ like character is developed after one has obtained eternal life ie the life or nature of God; and this is a lifetime long process. The Bible says believers transforma their lives and not conform to the world, by renewing their minds (Rom. 12:2).This is a continuous or life time process. Sadly law minded and self righteous judgemental people don't apprciate this truth. If one chooses to set the grace of God aside and desires to please God by his own works, he has set Christ and his works aside, and therefore not yet saved.

When you are born of God, you don't continue in sin. New birth is a new life in the Holy Spirit not in the flesh. Those who are led by the Spirit are children of God. Works doesn't save.

Bro, I understand that you want to see good behavior as the confirmation. I believe in good works which is a small part of the doctrine of holiness according to the scriptures yet I know that not every fruit bearing tree has fruit unless until maturity. Just to point your attention to the example of the apostles being called Christians was not an admiration of how holily they lived rather it was an insult or a mockery and the reason was because of the acts of the Holy Spirit demonstrating the power God through miracles and signs and wonders just like Jesus. So it was not a good behavior doctrine but rather it was the demonstration of the supernatural. The unbelievers mocked them by calling them Christ-like(not the religious Christ-like of many churches oo) because they thought Christ was a criminal because of the way Jesus died but they were not aware of His resurrection until the disciples manifested. Please let's be very careful about speaking too early. If the light in a man is darkness, how great is that darkness?? Let's read, read and STUDY THE SCRIPTURES WITHOUT THE GOOGLE'S OF THE LAW... LET'S KNOW THE REAL GOD PLEASE PEOPLE. DON'T INSULT...ITS THE CAPITAL SIGN OF BABYHOOD... YOU MUST GROW IN THE KNOWLEDGE OF HIM
