It was slow motion. They had to film at double speed to make the petals float slowly when slowed back down. They just get better and better. Very impressive. And so much fun.

I love the attention to small detail. There's a lot of subtle funny bits in this song. For example, listen closely to the BV's when Cesar pulls out the umbrella. That might be slightly illegal from a copyright standpoint but they draw all attention from it so no one notices

Love for your reaction they just dropped Friday - Hellfire (Hunchback of Notre Dame) and Geoff's dropped on Saturday - Jack's Lament (Nightmare Before Christmas).

10000% felt that laugh during Layne’s solo.

This is so much better to get stuck in your head than the Final Jeopardy tune. Geoff's wife had perfect aim with those rose peddles. Eli does the light programming. This is Layne's arrangement. All the funny stuff was all choreographed by Layne. Geoff in the blouse and flipping his hair.

A few things, Eli does the lighting and programs them to change on a timer with the music. That part you thought may have been slowed down was slowed down. You can definitely tell when Geoff takes over. Also, that was throat bass by Layne in the end.
@DanielEarnest2 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for sharing!! Layne's "throat bass", is that his inhale singing or no? I don't know that much about it...
@patriciaschuman42052 жыл бұрын
Yes, on the 'behind the scenes' video the playback for this part was done at 2X speed I believe, so Ashley, Geoff and Layne had to lip sync to the increased speed track (and Geoff had to correctly time the 'hair flip' that Layne wanted) and then the video played back at a decreased speed to match the original track.
@natebaker36722 жыл бұрын
@@DanielEarnest No, throat bass is exhaled. It is similar to subharmonics since it is an octave below the sung note created by resonance in the throat. It is a much brighter and harsher sound than subharmonics.
@Kiradeit2 жыл бұрын
@@DanielEarnest funny enough Layne can also do inhale singing but in this particular video he was using throat bass

VoicePlay owns Disney covers and this one was so much fun! I love to see their playful side. Layne's arrangement was fabulous and the ending was brilliant! Layne can actually hit A0 as an inhale note, which is one lower than Geoff. He does it as the last note in SH-Boom.

I got such a kick out of your reaction! You gave me some new insights into the song -- I'd never heard about Layne's "inhale singing," and there were other things that you pointed out that I hadn't noticed before -- but just your sheer enjoyment of the performance was a delight. You laughed at the same things I had (where some other reactors were still busy talking about the singing, and yes that's great, but come on -- you've gotta laugh at her face on "the next day, dead!") New subscriber.

Yes, they played and performed the song at 2x speed (which Layne didnt tell them until the day they were shooting the video lol) because they needed the rose petals to float by and not blast by them (they were using a leaf blower lol). Which is why their mouth movements are a bit off right there.

Supposedly......Geoff's 'scream' is a part of a video on KZbin.....there is a 6 second video of a screaming goat....if you check it out, it is VERY similar to Geoff's scream, but his scream is shorter.....been waiting for you to react to this one..........>^^
@ljk54642 жыл бұрын
It was, in fact, the goat scream. Layne had Geoff scream and it sounded good but someone said something about the screaming goat and Layne changed Geoff's scream to the goat. It's mentioned in the BTS comments.

@@ljk5464 thanks, i was aware of that info, in post porduction, Layne did indeed use the goat scream,, but edited down to fill the rythym.

They just keep topping themselves. Layne’s arrangement and direction in this was just brilliant, and everybody just came in and killed it. Great reaction. Obviously, more Voiceplay, and you might also check out The Wellerman’s latest-they brought in at least a dozen fabulous bass singers to collaborate on Far Over the Misty Mountains Cold, and it rattles your teeth. Well worth a listen.
