Beautiful finds. Good hunting. “FES” that you see can be also found on many other German projectiles and shell cases from WW2. It stands for Sintered Soft Iron driving band (new type). Old type of driving bands was the bimetal “KPS” for Copper & Steel. Basically to save harder to find copper and to stop coppering the barrel grooves.

That mystery item with the four lights, is part of the German notek night convoy driving light. It is designed so that if the following vehicle can see four individual lights, then they are too close, if they see one long light they are too far away, but if they can see two lights then that is just the right distance for convoy driving. They were fitted to the rear of all German vehicles from motor bikes to tanks.

Great question. I would really like to know these. There’s another channel with guys from Germany and they call a hotline, mark the position with a flag then a police or army bomb disposal team comes and controlled detonates them. Not sure what the Russians do. Probably cleaning them up and puts them back in their stock piles lol.
