I’ve just recently found your channel and I love it! I grew up in the country (Devon) and growing up, entertainment was rambling around and discovering ruins etc. It was normal for my friends and I to stumble upon an abandoned Manor House. This is perfect chill-out watching. I feel sorry for the scaredy-cats with so much time on their hands to write essays on why they think you’re wrong for doing what you do. It’s enlightening to highlight the breadth of huge properties and land that get neglected.
@roywainwright59549 ай бұрын
It doesn't look neglected ,nor abandoned ,maybe closed as what was once operating as an hotel , closed less than a year back ( hotel ) !!! That is not a definition of abandoned by any stretch of the imagination .. Discovering ruins and illegal trespass ,very different ..

@@VacantHaven I’m aware that you obviously love your hobby but have you ever considered just how lucky you have been so far? If anything happens to this property YOU WILL BE DIRECTLY RESPONSIBLE FOR ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING. By putting this particular property on KZbin Channel, you have just invited every ner- do-well into the front door! This property obviously has an owner & I hope that you got permission to enter or you have been trespassing the whole time you are on the property! I would suggest that you find out WHO OWNS THIS GRAND HOUSE & inform them of what you’ve found! This is or rather was NOT AN HOTEL!!!!!!! Be very careful with everything that you’ve touched because every time that you touch anything the sweat on your hands will increase the degrading of every item. Please be careful with everything that you Touch & see & DO NOT EVER TELL ANYONE ABOUT WHAT YOU HAVE FOUND . Also NEVER put on or try anything electrical as almost ALL OF THE CABLES will be old & unstable. You could leave a fire 🔥 smouldering in the wiring absolutely anywhere in that massive house & the whole lot could be burned down because you have not thought about anything but looking into other peoples lives. I think exploring old buildings is interesting, but this wasn't abandoned at all, it's probably got foreign owners, and someone that stays there for security. I think there's a fine line between walking around an old ruin, or entering someones home. How would you feel if someone was randomly walking around your house, laying on your bed etc, because you forgot to lock a door when you went on holiday, or down to the shop. It also encourages people to break into buildings like this. If a place is like this, why not find out who the owners are, and just ask them if you can look around. Most like to show off their home when it's like this. It's part of the joy of owning such a building, that they can show others that they own it - especially with foreign owners
@VacantHaven2 жыл бұрын

I noticed some comments you can't please everyone but its obvious not in use at the moment what a beautiful house wouldn't it be a shame if someone doesn't take it over soon as possible because its in such a great condition except for the flys and dead birds I loved all the different wallpapers and everything matched perfectly with it must be worth a kings ransom great find i really couldn't stop watching this one .

I just found your channel and I'm loving the places you go to. I really like how you open drawers so we can take a peek inside..also I'd love to see the markings on the bottom of some of the fine china and the makers of clocks and other things. It's amazing these beautiful places are left to decay. I desperately would want to save some of the antiques..the proceeds could go to charity. Also check for secret rooms in the master bedrooms, libraries and study rooms.. Great jobs guys!! I'm binge watching at the moment. Btw- there are two brothers.. they're channel is Bros of Decay...they happened upon a secret door off the man's office or study room..in it was a very old Louis Vuitton luggage..I would have been hard pressed to leave it behind..since the home had not been touched for many many years.

What a beautiful classic building. It must have been so fun to live and work there.

To live there, no doubt !! To work there? Not so much ! (Unless you were into masochism...) Get a few hours off a WEEK if you were lucky, slave day in and day out, and because you got meals during the day, paid incredibly little - certainly not enough to buy your own house and support a family. Corrupt system from the top down - built on the backs of the workforce. Miserable period, the Georgian. Quite like most periods in the past, really !!!

These old homes with all their staircases and rabbit warren rooms do my head in .Not to mention all the space below the ground. They must have been a monumental task to build. Beautiful though.
