Given the end goal....this is absolutely the right decision. Useing professionals to install the most intricate parts of a plane is by far the safest choice made so far. You have made the choice to ensure success. Nevermind the show, there will be others!

Probably a lot of us knew that you had set impossible expectations, but that doesn’t stop us from following along and living the adventure with you. As friends of the show, actually we feel like family, we’re not upset with you. We know how hard the entire team has worked and just because Oshkosh will be missed, we know your level of enthusiasm will not allow you to slow down or even think about giving up. We’re not going to give up on you. So as another great airplane enthusiast says, BACK TO WORK. We love you guys, thanks for bringing us on this great adventure.

You have a great team working on a project that will help a lot of people. You are exactly right when you say failing is quitting, you haven't quit, it's just gonna take longer than you thought. It's better to do everything safely and get it done right the first time. You are working on an aircraft that sat for years, it's going to take a lot of blood sweat and tears to get that thing back in the air, but you and your team are committed enough to get it done.

Brought back memories when I worked depot level. Plane would fly in would get a ground run by our crew to see what worked and what was broke. Fuel removed, all the equipment tagged and removed. Panels removed. Electrical would strip out wiring. Sheet metal would remove and add what was needed then inspected. Paint, wiring installed and checked, equipment installed and checked, finally ground run then test flight. Everything was documented including hours spent per task. Your really building a new aircraft.

I can remember watching about a year ago you trying to start the engines, you eventually did get them to start. Look back at that time, your excitment, the time it took, thd dedication, the not giving up, the little things done bit by bit to get to this stage. Expectations, timelines get changed, dont beat yourself up so much. Safety first and doing it right first time will always be the correct way. There will always be time in the future for you to fullfil your dreams and promises, people understand that. Good luck to you and your team.

I think I can safely say that no one care how long it takes, as long as it’s done safely. It’s good to set goals, but they should be achievable. Don’t stress and keep going.

I'd rather wait 3-4 years and see it fly missions safely than to see a rushed project. All of us are in this for the long haul. We believe in you, so no worries. Step back and take a breath. You've not failed at all.

Doing the 401 right is better than doing it fast. Safety should always be the #1 priority and I don't think a single fan of your show will fault you for rebuilding the 401 right and safe. Keep it up guys!

Kudos to every member putting in the work. Each step brings you closer to having the airframe together and primed, inside put together, and avionics and engines installed. KEEP UP THE GOOD VIDEO UPDATES!

The entire process, from start TO FINISH, is what counts. Remember, you guys are not politicians with an unlimited budget. You are showing REALITY. People just don't seem to get what it takes to do a really professional job, especially in aviation, or what it takes in a personal toll, to do something of this complexity. You guys are showing it. Take that satisfaction and appreciation, and continue on.

I would stick to the main idea. Whenever you have to work with other teams there are going to be delays. Don’t give up. Just make sure it’s 100% safe.

This reminds me of one of your early videos where you talked about how projects seem to hit a wall where it seems like nothing is getting done, once you get past that point it all starts to come together again.

I don't care how long time it's gonna take to restore this two-engine airplane. I'm all in and want to see it finished. Then, when it is finished, you have a ton of footage to make a time-lapse video on the teardown and renovation, and assembly. This will be spectacular.

Osh Kosh is on next year too! Not a failure at all to rebuild this beautiful aircraft in a 100% safe way and achieve the true goal which is a mission airplane. No matter what we love seeing this build come together bit by bit. JR Aviation channel used a paint shop for their yellow bonanza that was spectacular and perhaps they would partner with you.

@C.A. Nix III Don't worry, it will have to go through rigorous inspections to be able to fly again. If you only knew how many old rebuilt airplanes are being flown right now over your head every day...😉 Not to mention experimental airplanes which anyone even people who aren't airplane mechanics can build!! There are literally so many of those in the air!!
@sethregan8734
@sethregan8734 Жыл бұрын
@C.A. Nix III Believe me, I've helped with aircraft restoration, they're doing it the right way. The reason they're still finding problems is because they're going through it with a fine tooth comb like they should. There are specific FAA regulations for rebuilding things like this with detailed explanation and pictures explaining exactly what is legal to keep and when it needs to be replaced or repaired. One time we were trying to rebuild a Piper Cub and had to scrap the whole airframe because of corrosion that was above the limit in the regulations... The FAA knows all about this project and they have to inspect it before it goes in the air. All I'm trying to do is put your mind at rest...😊 Have a great day!

@@sethregan8734 where are those FAA regulations for rebuilding located?
@sethregan8734
@sethregan8734 Жыл бұрын
@Buck Murdock I'm not an aircraft mechanic, so I don't know the details of how you get them. I remember when we were doing projects that the mechanic would reference a regulations book. What I specifically remember was pictures on how much a steel cable could be worn before it had to be replaced.
