To think that the real threat of the entire show was this parasitic creature causing an infestation of man-eating titan monsters an inevitably cornering it is mind blowing. But since we still don't know how it came to be, we don't know if it can be formed again or how it can be formed. If anyone who hasn’t heard of the internet of trees is ill tell you. It’s a symbiotic system with trees and fungi, where the trees send information through the fungi to other trees. It can be used by trees to send information, communicate, and even give and take nutrients from other trees or plants. And so imagine that the paths that are connected to every eldian is a type of invisible airborne fungi. This fungi can only effect and be interacted with by eldians. And the coordinate is a large concentration of this fungi. But at the coordinate ,it is responsible for create the materials that titans are made of. And whenever a signal is sent to the coordinate about a Titan shifter, it uses the airborne fungi as a transport system. The fungi sends the flesh and bones of the Titan to the location, and it’s all fused together by the fungi creating the Titan. It can also explain the powers of the founder. The creature inside of the founder acts like a transmitter for the founder’s brain waves. And using the airborne fungi, the founder can send information to any eldian in the world “if not all”. And plus the lightning that Titans make could be a result of static electricity due to moving the materials so fast. Plus it could help by sticking the material together as well.

It was stated by zeke that the creature exist for billions of years before humanity exist. The creature adapt to survive through millennia. It latches on a host as a parasite to survive and multiply. In real world the creature is based on hallucigenia, a centipede thing theorize to be the source of life in the planet. Lore wise the creature is also inspired by the jormongundr? in norse mythology. The creature is also a metaphor for the seed of war. That's why it's under the tree.

This still explains absolutely nothing; where does the biomass for the titan body come from? What triggers the biomass to form and congregate? What is the lightning? What is the "Paths?" Why do the titans regenerate? What's the reason for Titans wanting to eat a potential shifter if that is not an inherent instinct given by the founder? Why does an ancient parasite cause titans??? Why did the colossal titans not decay? Why do Titans have the ability to harden but also disappear into gas? What powers the regeneration without calories to create energy to go through rapid mitosis of stem cells? How does the "Royal Blood" work if ALL of Ymir's descendants are the only ones that can turn into titans?

THIS! Have been looking everywhere for people wondering about these questions!! Instead of trying to figure out the source of titan power or imagine using the power in different ways (like their ability to heal/regenerate their whole body and Armor Titan being able to transfer his consciousness to his body) the story just ends with lots of people dead. Like there’s a fundamental difference between AoT and stories of humans in war with each other: the very core of the story, the TITANS! The discovery shouldn’t have ended with oh Titans are oppressed group of people and it’s a sad history of human violence. It was the titan power that they were at war with! The more questions, the less the ending seem to make sense. Or I just can’t get over the fact that Hange died (cuz she would’ve tried to figure out for sure)

Always thought the idea of spinal fluid being able to active titan powers was so random, but it does make sense as the creature latched onto the spine and spinal fluid runs through..well...the spine. What's interesting is how the Marleyans knew about its properties up to the point where they could mass produce it. They are all considered descendants of Ymir. Remember the original king wanted his daughters to mass reproduce in order to create more titans. After a few centuries, there were diluted traces of them probably across all of Eldia. By the time we see Eren, everyone left has a trace back to her. You can see it when she first dies, as her descendants grow in number, the tree in the paths becomes ever larger, each branch leading back to her, the base of the tree.

I think the mysterious worm is eren because the worm look exactly similar to that from eren when his head got cut off. Moreover the tree where the eren head is been buried has grown like the same titan tree in the manga ending. As eren could manipulate past and future. It all may be Eren's doing,may be that's why only his titan the attack titan can see the future because he already knew the future. Just a theory 😌

Agreed. If it is parasite it would try to make sure that host live for a long time so it could survive and procreate. With better writing, Ishayama could have revealed that the parasite slowly drain life force to extend its life and then switch bodies. But the question remain how were nine titans born?

Although it can be scientifically explained why titans started, I don’t think the reason for the titans being able to pass down for generations(Ymir’s curse) is neither scientific or biological. Yes the people that become titans need to be injected but titans are also able to be made without using humans(through the paths and Ymir) so the end of titans would not be able to be biologically or scientifically does not seem possible to me. Cool idea and it is cool that people are looking into this scientifically, but I feel that the reason why titans are the way they are is more because of Ymir(the reason why they are immortal as well as the reason why there is a difference between Royal and Non royal blood because the hallucigenia likely doesn’t see a difference between royal and non royal unlike Ymir) and King Fritz(the reason why titans have a canabalistic nature can likely be because of the forced canabalism King Fritz made each generation go through). So basically the paths are one of the ultimate reasons that the continuation of titans is not really biological, even if eldians need to be injected in order to become a titan.

I think the worm might be a creature very similar to a combination of mushrooms and a plant. Plants need the sun for photosynthesis hence the titans are only awake durning the day. Mushrooms usually have something similar to a communication system hence the ability to communicate with other eldians If we assume that this plant has grown enough that it's basically overflowing the entire planet the titan powers would also make sense because the plants could form the shape of the titans. I also think that the parasite only controls the plants and isn't the thing actually responsible for the titans themselves but rather it's responsible for commanding their creation it is also the only connection between the eldians and the plant.
