I'm Canadian and when you called that Toque (knitted snow hat) a 'toboggan' (what I know as a traditional indigenous sled) I thought you were confused so I looked it up. Apparently southern US regions commonly use the term toboggan for a knit winter hat! I think since 'toboggan' comes from the French word 'tabagane' and 'touque' is also french, the two get mixed up on such a huge scale that googling both with show you a knitted wool hat. That's pretty funny.
