It’s the 2nd vlog from this Beyond Melbourne series and today we’re heading to Belgrave to see what Puffing Billy is all about! For years now we've seen this come up on any of our what to do in Melbourne searches and lists for the top things to do or must see in Melbourne list - it's not really in Melbourne itself, but for any trip here we can now say it is totally worth it! Puffing Billy isn't just about the iconic train itself, but the crazy part of the trip is being able to hang your feet over the edge as the train is moving through the ranges.

So the Puffing Billy train was built in 1900 and used to carry timber, livestock, potatoes and plants - the railway has transported over 11 million passengers since then. Today it feels like you’re stepping back in time, but no doubt one of the reasons it's on the top things to do list for Melbourne is because of the way you can hang your feet over the edge, it makes the journey way more exciting.
There are different routes you can take, we did the Belgrave to Lakeside return trip and it was highly recommended.
