I was a regular visitor to St Albans buggy club when I worked for team losi , we ran stadium trucks there as well as buggies. Dave Foster at Schumacher was heavily involved with the club in those days.

Love to see old finds like this! Is so interesting, such a shame it’s gone but would be great to see it up and running again. Hopefully viewers somewhere will have more photos and video you could perhaps share of it back in its hey day. I wonder how many old rc tracks are out there like this unused.

Great you have done a video on that old track. I used to race a Manta Ray then a Cougar 2 there in the 90's. I'm sure it was run by a family with a surname of Foster than ran Models in Motion shop in Letchworth. Great times. Sadly the track got vandalised in the late 90's from memory.

Speaking of RC c-arceology, remains can be found of a couple of other former tarmac RC tracks. Lilford (between Northampton and Peterborough) closed in the early 80's. Was in the grounds of the big house but last time I visited over 20 years ago what was left was overgrown and had sheep grazing on the site. Then there is Tibshelf in Derbyshire which sadly had to close in the 2000's. The tarmac has gone but the outline can still be made out in the grass as the hardcore base is still present. Then there is Snetterton which from Google maps what was the track looks like it's become some sort of storage area but the outline of some track markings can be seen Sadly the tarmac track I helped get built at MK was totally destroyed with the building of new flats.

There is a pub near me which used to have a track on the site and you can still see some of the remnants of it. Actually there are two, one is my old onroad club though and we moved site but the remnants were there for the old onroad track but there are plans for a housing estate on that one

@@PopalongRC won't be happy until all the green land is gone in urban areas. We might need boats instead of cars if it continues, the water has to go somewhere. It's super easy to blame global warming though and carry on building them

What would be the perfect rc to flip a car back onto its wheels? If I’m with my mate we can sometimes use the others’ car and push it back onto its wheels. Doesn’t always work, I thought about making a sloped/shovel attachment, sometimes it’s pretty far away when it flips onto Its roof 🙁
