Justin, Captain Wayne Conn here from Reward Fishing Fleet in Miami. I enjoy your videos! You have helped reignite my inshore fishing passion. That snapper is positively 100% DOG. Tell-tale difference is that dogs have that light teardrop triangle below their eyes. On really big ones, they also have very long canine teeth. Their color in general will have way more brick red/orange than Schoolmasters, which have more yellow and brown colors

Thanks Capt. I learned the tear drop trick from someone on instagram after filming the video. I think that may be the easiest way to tell them apart in my opinion!

100% Dog snapper. I was corrected by an FWC biologist at the ramp thinking I had some a couple schoolmasters as well. The blonde/white triangle shape under the eye is what to look for.

You should definitely practice brain and bleed after you decide to harvest your fish. Helps with meat quality and stops them from thrashing around in the cooler. Awesome vid as always!
