Bahasa Melayu Malaysia vs Indonesia languange is just like... UK English vs America English. Same but not same , its understandable, but some might different. lol. Welcome aboard to Malaysia, hope you all enjoy it!
@0900370pianАй бұрын
No, it is much more than that. The way of speaking and some words are totally different between Malay Language and Bahasa Indonesia. The foundation is the same but there are striking differences between them in grammar, syntax, vocabulary, and pronunciation. The better comparison would be Brazilian Portuguese vs Portugal Portuguese. But don't worry both languages are mutually intelligible if both Malay and Indonesian speakers talk in standardized version of their respective languages.

Welcome to Mall'asia ! Do take up on that guy's advice, since you are more familiar with Indonesian cuisine Kampung baru would be the spot. Now the locals will know the difference between Malay Malaysian cuisine and Indonesian-Malay cuisine. You can sorta tell what you're getting by the spelling on the board. For example we spell Ice as Ais but you know you getting Indonesian food if they spell it as Es . They also got fusion malay-indonesian cuisine in Kampung bahru . There are things in Kampung Baru you cant find in Indonesia because its from the east coast region or other regions of Malaysia. Padang is Malay-indonesian cuisine from sumatera not native to the Malay peninsula.

For tasting the local food culture, go to Kampung Baru for Malaysian Malay cuisines like nasi lemak at Wanjo, nasi padang is also there, go to Chinatown on Petaling street or Jalan Alor for Malaysian Chinese food, go to Little India on Jalan Brickfields for Malaysian Indian food. Should also try the street Ramly bruger. Should also visit one of the pasar malam, open night markets in and around KL.

Congratulations, you made it. It's one of the cheapest way to get to the hotel in KL. Actually there's another way you can save a lot to get to KL Sentrai that is by bus. You can simply take an express bus from the airport. It cost you around RM 10 - 12/adults to KL Sentral. The journey may take slightly longer but I guarantee, it's quite a pleasant ride. The bus is good with 1 + 2 seating configuration.

If you plan to go to penang or north, you can try use ETS train. try to avoid KTM komuter when travelling, long frequency and always delay, use LRT and MRT instead. and i think there is a card that you can buy for unlimited ride using Rapid KL (bus, mrt, lrt, brt) for foreigners, you can try ask the person at the any station instead of buying the coins every time. happy travelling

22:52 dont ask for Nasi Padang..instead look for Nasi Campur/Mixed Rice. Nasi Padang is a particular dish from Sumatera (so the options will be smaller), while nasi campur is local mixed rice sold mostly at local restaurants. Another name Nasi Campur is Economy Rice (normally used by Chinese restaurants). Theres also Nasi Kandar which is originated from Penang, sold by Indian-Muslim restaurants. Nasi Kandar is mostly based on curries compared to nasi campur which is very mixed in terms of the dishes.
