The reason it gave you infinite plays is most likely dead prize sensor together with "Play Till Win" mode enabled. The sensor doesn't detects a prize and the machine thinks you didn't won, so the "Play Till Win" mode will add you one more attempt. That thing is common on an old Paokai machines, especially Toy Soldiers and Win Everytimes.
