In this video we fished a spillway during a feeding frenzy and then did a catch and cook with what we got.

We catch them in the Mississippi River when the river is dropping and a chute exits from an oxbow. We are near Vicksburg and use 3" plastic Sassy Shads with a 1/8 jig head.

Nice feeding frenzie think a small beetle spin or a small gold spoon would have did the trick wish they would let people fish off of the bank right there and that looked like a hell of a meal.

Def something small but I think a jig tied to look like grass shrimp Would be best. Also I think the bigger ones were hanging out past the group rather catch them anyway

do you know where the red beans on monday tradition came from? it came from the people used to boil big cauldrons of water to wash clothes after church, and they would use the wood fires they had going to cook the beans that evening and the next day,.,. that plentiful louisiana natural gas hadnt been discovered yet .

If you fish when that gate is open you better be at a higher level of safety than you would typically play the safety role. If you wearing boots and go over you are done. I seen 2 people die already fishing off that wall throwing cast nets during times they had the flood gate open. They went in the water and never came back up. Took the rescue divers a few hours to locate them.

Hey Jared, I can see the Water boilin! Its strange your not getting even nibbles? As I told you ,I grew up in a Fishing Harbor, it wasn't till I was grown did I find Little tiny Shrimp clung to the end of the Dock,go figure! I could have used them for Smeltin🫣. I just made Hamhock and Dandelions ! We may live far apart but,we eat some of the same things,Enjoy😊. JO JO IN VT 💞

Yes that what I was thinking too BUT the bigger ones have much more meat so if the smaller baits produces more fish but smaller then you know the regular size jig is the ticket
