We just added solar to our repeater site, I unplugged it from the grid and with a 100 ah LifPo4 Battery it has worked great. I will replace it with a Self Heating LifePo4 before winter. Thanks for the video and good luck...

I have a 200 ah self heated battery we will see how it does I might have to add another. Once the project is done I’ll put an auto switch so if the power is out it will switch to solar powered

I just acquired the R a 87 repeater system on the I didn’t get the power supply and I tell you I’m impressed and radios mines actually put out 39 watts on both of them but obviously the duplex going to cut that in half what I want to know is what sort of raspberry pi set up you have there I’m looking for do you know so I can self identify I’d love for you to list the products and where I can find them. Thank you very much.

The pi is amzn.to/40jVrq0 you must put windows 10 or 11 on the pi. The pi case is amzn.to/3NI0LMm The software is and requires windows 10 or 11 to run. f6dqm.free.fr/soft/simplex_install_DX.exe The box that links everything together is amzn.to/3NHjZ4M

How many watts? Will a vehicle GMRS antenna suffice?
@JDubbsadventureАй бұрын
Depends on how you do this set up with a duplex or you can expect anywhere from 20 to 30watts with two antennas you can’t expect anywhere from 35 to 45watts. The radios is rated at 40watts but Iv seen them higher. Remember what don’t give you distance they give you penetration through trees, buildings, objects, etc.. a mobile antennal will work. It is not the best situation. The gold standard would be a commercial grade DB 404. But the tram 1486 is marginally worse then the 404 and you can buy 7 tram 1486 to one db404

@@JDubbsadventure cool I’ll look into it. I’m trying to get a repeater going in my area too.

@@Freedom_Aint_Comfort this one served us well in a bad spot, can’t wait to see how it does on top of the mountain. According to mapping 70-90 miles this repeater should cover at 15 watts.

So what happens when someone else puts up a repeater on the same freq?
@JDubbsadventure2 ай бұрын
@@n6cid I don’t think I fully understand what your asking can you elaborate?
@n6cid2 ай бұрын
@@JDubbsadventure I thought the question was pretty simple. What part do you not comprehend?
@JDubbsadventure2 ай бұрын
@@n6cid well it depends on how you look at the question. What happens if someone else puts a repeater up with the same frequency? Well one outcome is there’s interferes with mine and one of us simply moves frequency, two we use different tones so nothing happens. Three the repeaters fight each other an cause damage to one another. So what are you asking?
