Stagger kills forward bite. Stagger is great for throttling up in the corner. Most leaf spring cars wont like less than 2" of stagger unless on a very dry track.

There is a actual measurement depending on track configuration for the stager that track needs

on a coil spring car that bend will loosen it greatly.
