The machine gun is a German MG13 not really rare Thousands of these came out of Portugal in the early eighties when they sold off many German WW2 surplus guns on the world market.

Exactly this. The MG13 was the standard light machine gun from 1930 to 1935. When it was replaced it was sold to Spain and Portugal, which as you said, have recovered plenty of them to not be named as “rare”. Occasionally, can find them around western and eastern front battle fields as ones that were not sold were placed in storage and used by second line German units as it was easy to handle and reload for not very experienced troops.
