Cliffe Fort is a disused artillery fort built in the 1860s to guard the entrance to the Thames from seaborne attack. Constructed during a period of tension with France, it stands on the south bank of the river at the entrance to Cliffe Creek in the Cliffe marshes on the Hoo Peninsula in North Kent, England.

I know that place. Went there regularly before the ballast belts started encroaching. It was never fenced off & it was never flooded. The ballast mob banked up the east ground level so they could pile shingle, so there was nowhere for the area to drain. It is a Napoleonic fort, but was also utilised in the 1st & 2nd World Wars as a barracks, a river defence & anti-aircraft position.

Wow thank you for the video as it’s places like that which I’d never be able to see without videos like yours as there is no way to get there in a wheelchair nevermind get around the place. I don’t even travel that well anything further than 20 miles away is a nightmare for me so even getting there is a big no no for me so again thank you. The nearest thing round here like that is the city castle that was built back in the 1400’s to keep them daft Scottish infidels out though god knows why they’d want to come here. 😂😂😂😂😂😂 keep them cameras a rolling please.

those cone shaped positions were probably mortor pits that held a mortor cannon. the large iron cylinder was most likely the bottom of the main guns turret and was used to turn the gun possibly by hand like a capstan winch. the rings in the wall by the railway were used to pull the cannon back in to extend the barrel out the window after firing and reload, this was also done by hand much like a ships cannon

Amazing fort to explore. Those things that you thought were mounds, they would have been used as machine gun posts during the second world war. They would have been positioned near anti aircraft guns.

in Canada we had Takeshis castle but it was called MXC most extreme elimination challenge. It was dubbed over with lots of profanity and innuendo and they cut the footage differently. amazing show, strongly recommend you check it out. the "safety fluid" (water) was donated by some hilarious disgusting source each time like medical waste or farm runnoff. Those pipes over the ditch was straight out of that show. awesome reference

Well, I guess its been voted my job to be open with you. A few thousand of us followers of this channel had a meeting and heres what we found. Ed's guidance and trailblazing and leading the way is terrible and frankly, off and crazy without Ned giving guidance to him! Another issue we notice is that Ed only gets acting nutty and bossy as well as acting totally out of hand is when Ned's not there...he had to go as far as touching and fondling graffiti titties which he never would do id Ned was there to keep him in line! Good lord man, we cannot believe you would choose Ray, of all people to be a half assed fill in for Ned! That was astounding! Ray is afraid of his own shadow and everything that moves! Ray cant look out for himself let alone be a lookout for the crew. He will just run away! Ray....WOW! Let this be a lesson that you need Ned on your expedition's if you want to have the best turn out as possible! Good day Sir!
