A few years ago someone found 3 Mercedes 300sl Gullwing in Venezuela, which belonged to one of its presidents in the 50s. This makes you think that since Venezuela was one of the richest countries in the 50s-90s, how many jewels are hidden today in that country.

Venezuelan here and i knew that Countach back in the early 90's. In video is beautiful but in person is even gorgeous. Venezuela from the 50's to the late 80's/early 90's was petrolhead heaven: Beautiful cars ran our highways: Mercedes, Ferrari, Lamborghini, you name it. It was in there. Rumour has that up to this day there is a Bugatti Veyron tearing the highways. Fun fact: In the 50's, the president of the time Lt Cl Marcos Perez Jimenez began to build the highways that exists today. He was a control freak that wanted that everything was perfect. When a piece of the highway was done but not open to the public, he called the Roadworks Minister to ask for that piece. If he wasn't sure that it was build to perfection, he took out his gorgeous Mercedes Benz 300SL and tear up the newly constructed part flat out Like Cuba, Venezuela right now is a paradise of hidden gems. Yup, Venezuelan here. I went to a couple of those Ferrari challenge races, it was amazing. There was a guy in my city that had a dealership and competed in the series. He had a couple of 355 for the street and was working on a fiat Palio. He installed a Chevy V8 on the back (a don’t know if it was an LS) right where the back seats were located, and all the suspension and transmission was from the 355s he had (spare parts for the racing series and such).

I lived there for some years, i know of a beautiful early 911 Targa, sitting next to a Mustang Convertible in a semi-public garage near the banking district of Caracas.
